Walking distance to CN tower. Right downtown by all the bars and restaurants. The hop on hop off bus right on the corner by Starbucks.
Perfect. Staff superfirnedly, concierge really helpful and polite AND patient.
Very nice rooms, nice restaurant on first floor. Free internet in business center.

Perfect!

Room Tip: I personally prefer the high floors with a city view. If you ask for it they'll try to accomodat...

Very nice hotel - staff very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and very comfortable. If there was any negative point about the room it would be the bathroom - it was very nice but VERY small! This hotel is very close to Rogers Centre only a few minutes walk. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but we did go to Wayne Gretzky's Restaurant which is just around the corner food and service were excellent!

Our room at the Hyatt Regency was nice, spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. I was very put off by the over the top security measures. At check-in, both people staying in the room had to produce i.d. Younger people seemed to experience great hassle trying to get to the elevator to their room. It all seemed very strange.
Had breakfast at the downstairs restaurant the next morning. It was terrible. The buffet seemed to be very overpriced and not fresh. I ordered oatmeal, which was far too watery. The Starbucks off the lobby would have been a much more satisfying choice, without the wait and cost.

The room looked pretty modern and stylish, bed was comfortable. TV picture quality was oddly very lousy. No bar fridge, and accidentally drank a $4 bottle of water next to the coffee maker--assumed it was complimentary! I felt a bit tricked by that. Great location, view from this particular room wasn't fabulous (it was down onto another roof). Gave license plate number at desk as per parking garage procedure and still got a ticket, which upon leaving I had to run up and take care of (and it was quickly negated but it cost me an extra few minutes when I had to be somewhere).

We stayed for night just to have a quick getaway. It exceeded our expectations. The room (1857) had an amazing view of the cn tower and urban landscape. The service was great and the food from room service was very (almost too) quick and very good quality! We would defiantly stay there again.

This is a Hyatt with no sense of character. You could be anyplace in the US or Canada. The staff are helpful but this is a high priced, ordinary hotel. There are some good restaurants within a block or two of the hotel.

Room Tip: Keep away from the elevators & ice machines.

Everything about the Hyatt Regency in Toronto is good; some aspects are very good. The only glaring issue is the oddly sterile lobby area. It is more a waiting room than a place where you might want to relax and chat while planning your next activity, or for a change of scenery from the room. First, the good:

Rooms: Reasonably sized rooms with high quality beds and bedding. Adequate work space for business travelers and good quality shampoo/soap. The bathrooms are a bit too reminiscent of the property's previous life as a Holiday Inn. You will never be tempted to bathe in the smallish tubs, and water pressure is good-not-great. I also question the decision to include a translucent panel in the interior wall; you always feel vaguely exposed to the sleeping area.

Breakfast: I appreciate the absence of a buffet "continental" breakfast (they are rarely any good, let's be honest). Service was pleasant and brisk and the food is very good. But, as is often the case in hotels, it is overpriced. Go to the in-house Starbucks instead, if all you want is a muffin and oatmeal, or a toasted bagel.

The very good:

Staff: From the concierge to the front desk staff, your intake experience is marked by personal warmth and a sincere desire to make sure you are nicely settled in to your room. A call from the 24 hour fitness centre led to a very quick and friendly response by housekeeping, bearing towels and headphones. There is no excuse for real hospitality, and the Hyatt Regency staff combines warmth, knowledge and professionalism.

Location: Toronto is a big city, and no hotel can be central to everything. But the Hyatt Regency is walking distance to many attractions, has easy access to streetcars and subways, and restaurant row is across the street.

In sum: The Hyatt Regency provides good value for money, and the intangibles should make a difference in your choice of hotels. But, as always, I question the need to charge for in-room internet. It's just silly in 2012/2013.
