“Delicious food - a real hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

Went to Yvonne's for the first time and can't say enough about the experience. The staff are so friendly and the food and coffee really are exceptional. Yvonne's really puts quality first and foremost. The coffee is fair trade and you can tell all the menu items and baked goods are made from scratch. This place is full of heart and soul and well worth a visit if you're looking for delicious food and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

“Nice Friendly Coffee Spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

I was getting sick of giving my coffee dollars to large corporations (Tim's, Starbucks) so I decided to meet a friend in the middle of our respective houses and found Yvonne's on the web. Admittedly a little difficult to find if you're not from the area, once we found Island Road, it wasn't hard to miss Yvonne's location.

The connection to the service station may put some folks off but you really need to go in and check it out to see the great service and friendly atmosphere of Yvonne's. Thankfully, Yvonne's doesn't have the pretention of the larger chains (you know the ones with the $6 coffees) and we settled into our Kicking Horse coffees and comfortable chairs for our chat. Yvonne herself came over to meet us and talk about her location and her ideas. The focus is a coffee house with good food and good coffee. I had an omlette which was great and we sampled some brownies that were very yummy (those good gooey kind that are amazing).

I liked it that Yvonne was really just trying to provide the Rouge HIll neighbourhood with a good, friendly coffee shop. And she's definitely done that.

Thanks Yvonne for helping to fill the need for decent restaurants and coffee shops in Scarborough!

“Proper Neighbourhood Coffee spot, Fair Trade”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

Whether you are grabbing coffee on your way to work, stopping in with kids or a group of friends this place welcomes with open arms. This is a truly charming, honest place with real hand made baked goods, vegetarian and gluten free options, full breakfast and lunch menu, space for hosting meetings and free wi-fi.

“Great coffee and scones”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

Yvonne's is a great local spot. Good coffee, yummy scones, eclectic decor and overall inviting.

My only wish is that they were opened on Sunday's too.

“Interesting little place, great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

A fairly new little place in east Scarborough across from the Black Dog pub. The restaurant is a mix of different tables and chairs with a little area that has chess boards, magazines etc. No conformity or cookie cutter stuff. There always seems to be some interesting people every time we go there. The coffee is first rate and try the Mediterranean sandwich, it's really good. The service is a little slow but I think that is because all sandwiches are made from scratch. Well worth a visit especially if you want a place you can sit and talk or chill.
