Good local burger joint in Toronto. BQM has more than 30 different types of burgers to choose from. I recommend the banquet burger – they cook their bacon perfectly.

The restaurant is nice, quick service and staff are very friendly but… there is only one small television in the restaurant. Burgers are expensive and vary from $10 to $13 dollars without any sides. Sides are $4 to $5. (get the regular fries). Be expected to spend $30 with beer and tip... too much for a casual fast burger.

A group of 5 of us had lunch at this burger joint on the north side of Queen, just east of Spadina. The following items were ordered: The Big Cheese, Hawiian, Riverside, Sliders Yukon Fries, Chili and a couple of salads. Service was quick and the staff had a good sense of humour. Their enthusiam is terrific. They serve very fresh food and everyone really enjoyed their meals. The Sliders and the Big Cheese were especially noteworthy. The fries were also crip and fresh.

We all ordered water with our meals (does that make us cheap?). Before tip, the total was $71.19.

BQM is another excellent place to go in the Queen/Spadina area. The nearby Rivoli and Hero Burger are also close by worthy options too.

We didn't go to this particular one, but to the one on york street.
The burgers are very nice and very good. Good beer as well.

The ambience is perfect, not too big, but cozy, and the service was great.
The price is also nice, a burger and two beers for about 30$
Worth trying!

I am a picky eater (my stomach gets easily upset over highly processed foods and so I have a difficult time eating out); however, I know I can rely on BQM for food that is delicious and healthy. You can taste the superior quality in their meats! I always look forward to eating there and am really grateful to have them in the neighborhood.

There are a few things that can really give you a sense of whether a restaurant knows what its doing. Pasta is one. Poorly cooked pasta is a very unpleasant eating experience. Steak is another. A good piece of well cooked beef needs nothing more than salt and pepper.

Burgers are another. You might think not but it's actually hard to find a really good burger. They can be dry. If quality meat isn't used they'll try to create flavour with all kinds of seasonsings, spices and filler. Well, today's a good day for burgers. We found BQM Burger today. The Queen St, Toronto location is like walking into a time capsule. It looks like an old style diner. They offer burgers made with Chuck, Brisket or Sirloin. We had one from brisket. It had great flavour all on its own. The toppings were accents, not trying to hide anything. The onion rings were properly done and have a nice bread coating. Fries are double fried (which is the right way to make fries). Service was good and friendly. And they have a nice selection of beer.

TVT Verdict: Check it out!
