Balzac's is located in the Distillery District. The decor is rustic, with high ceilings, and wooded furniture. The coffee counter is abundant in biscottis, cookies, cakes, croissants and other pastries.
Up up and away to the upstairs loft which doubles as an art gallery. The place is super cool decorated and the coffee is delicious. A little on the dark and bitter side, for some people in our group.
In summary, Balzacs is a must see for any traveler.

Superb little coffee shop, awesome location, artwork on the walls, great coffee and perfect hot chocolate ... The cookies are awesome too. Glad we found this place on a dull and damp day, it was worth it. 10/10

We went to the Balzac's in the Distillery District: good location and coffee that tasted of coffee. It increased my aversion of Starbucks. Busy, but the background noise wasn't too bad: certainly not a problem for having a conversation. The building is a delight. The service is quirky, but allows time to make the coffee with care.
