We arrived before normal check in time of 3PM because we were going to the Baseball game. The lady at the desk was very accommodating and went to extra trouble to find us a room that was already made up so that we could check in right away and get to the game on time. The room itself was as advertised... small but adequate. The bed was new and very comfortable but as previously mentioned the air conditioning was a bit noisy...and there was only a view of a wall out of both windows. The shower was new and great .. not much..I mean any..space for puting toileteries, etc but since we were only staying one night it was just fine. The shower leaked. On our departure we ran into the maintenance man in the hall and took him in to see and he was very polite and greatful. We had breakfast included and ate at the restaurant attatched to the hotel...a very good breakfast. and as advertised. The location is excellent for theatres and sporting events, even a walk along the waterfront.

Room Tip: The lady at check in said that she usually tries to put people who are staying longer in the higher...

We stayed for 3 nights. Great hotel super location to visit many of the sites around Toronto, not to mention bars and restaurants.
We travelled from the airport by local transport, Number 29 Bus, to the underground. Only mistake was to get off at “Younge Street” rather than changing lines to the “Yellow route” and getting off at “King street”. That is near the Hotel.
Younge Street is recognised by Guinness as the longest street in the world
We had a room at the back of the hotel, and it was nice and quiet, lovely and clean.
We only used the "Over easy" restaurant once, this is not to be missed super service and great food, set you up well for a day’s sightseeing.
All the staff gave us excellent service.
Will definitely stay again when next in the Toronto area.

Room Tip: Room we had was at the rear, and was nice and quiet, even though we was in the City

We visited Toronto in June 2013. We chose to stay at Hotel Victoria because of it's ideal central location. Our experience was very positive, throughout the stay our room was serviced to a high standard. The room itself was clean and nicely renovated. The only two negatives were: no safe to keep your valuables and quite old and noisy A/C.
The reception staff were friendly, however I agree with the previous comments: it would be nice to feel a bit more welcoming and acknowledged when you enter through the door.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel as all major attractions are within walkable distance, it's good value for money.

Room Tip: If you're looking for a room with a view, ask for a front facing one. The rest of the rooms have...

We stayed in June, as part of a couple days to see the sights and visit Niagara. We drove from the airport, and getting to the hotel was reasonably straightforward, despite the road works and never driving in the country before!
Carparking at the hotel is a couple of blocks away, so you definitely need to stop in front of the hotel to unload your luggage if you don't want a haul it through the city. There is no pull in, so just park on the street, offload your gear and park (there is a no waiting zone at the front).
The front desk were polite, without being overly friendly, but were proficient. The room we had was on 5th floor - twin beds, not overly comfortable. The rooms were tidy, clean and presentable - the view wasn't much, but we chose the hotel for its location than its facilities. Excellent walkable distances to the pubs (one around the corner and across the street) and central attractions of Toronto.

We could not have been more pleased with the Hotel Victoria on our recent stay in Toronto on vacation. The King room was nicely furnished, spotless, and spacious with touches of character remaining that indicate its long history. Easy and fast internet connection. The location is fantastic, especially if you plan to attend a performance at the St. Lawrence Center for the Arts which is one block away. It is also central to the waterfront, Yonge-Dundas square, and countless theatres, parks, and restaurants. The Over Easy restaurant connected to the hotel was a pleasant surprise, lots of options for breakfast and lunch - even vegetarian and healthier choices. Highly recommend the Hotel Victoria.

We stayed one night, excellent service at front desk, our room was small, with no view, but met all our needs. Everything clean, neat and tidy. Very quiet, and the best bonus is so close to all attractions, museums, and fantastic restaurants. Will definitely come back.

The hotel has (physically) everything you expect from what you pay, nothing more, nothing else. However the reception service is the worst I've ever seen. Unfriendly, apathetic staff, doing the minimum as possible to help and trying to 'get rid of you' as fast as possible to chat with colleagues about their weekend - yes, they we could hear them doing that-. Also you might consider yourself lucky to be greeted by the reception when passing by, as normally they just stare at the guests, waiting for you to salute them.

This evening we needed urgently to print, sign and scan a document to Europe. When we went to the reception to ask if they could help, Brian answered he could print, but not scan as 'we don't do this here'. Right behing him there was a huge, new fax/scan/printer which any child can use to scan, print of fax anything. Clearly Brian was not capable of doing that and in a very rude way just left us there. We continued trying to explain why we needed this urgent document sent immediately, but he still did not say anything but "I cannot scan". No apologies, no politeness, "I cannot scan". Brian did not give us a reason, it was not a hotel policy, there were no extra fees, just his incapacity to be helpful and do a simple receptionists job. His only reaction was to send us (at 8pm) to a shop nearby, which was already closed, of course, to do a simple scan of a 2-page document. We also asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and he denied.

We are deeply disappointed with the hotel and are sure there are much better places in Toronto with less incompetent people than Brian, the receptionist.

We appreciate the time that you took to write the review and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay. At the time our multi-function system was partially out of order. We do understand that the documents you needed to send were time sensitive so the only option available to you at the time was suggested. Again, we apologize your stay was not up to our normal standard. Thank you again for sharing your comments as they assist us in improving our service.
