“Chinatown Toronto (Dundas St W)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

Got to love chinatown!!~

For food, I prefer the shops around the cross-section of Dundas St W and Spadina Avenue. Cheap affordable dim sim.. awesome all day yumcha at almost every corner you see.. there are also lots of yummy chinese bakeries along Spadina Avenue, 3 buns for $1, YUMMO (if I lived there for any longer, I would have gained a lot of weight..)

For groceries, chinatown is definitely the place to be.. it's also a step away from Kensington Market across Spadina Ave. Fresh chicken, fish, fruits, veges.. almost anything you can think of.. there are lots of similar shops, so whether you're at one end of chinatown or the other end, you'll run into one of these stores.. prices vary, but are mostly similar..

Souvenirs - Spadina Avenue / Kensington Market / Chinatown.. from everyday needs (shoes, nail clippers, shirts etc) to jade / gold statues, you'll find it in the many little shops around the place.. there are also DVD shops almost everywhere (good for those who get a bit bored, or are in search of a night-in, with some hot cocoa, blanket and good movie)

Living anywhere in downtown Toronto, Chinatown will definitely be an almost daily visit.. it was for us.

Great Chinatown. Walkable and mellow. Authentic shops and lots of bakeries with delicious new treats to try. We explored for hours and had a great dinner.

“Yummy”

The AGO is just around the corner of Dundas and Spadina, the nexus of only one of Toronto's Chinatowns. We have been to a number of Noodle Houses and count Swatow among the best. Another fave of ours is located at Broadview and Gerrard where we eat at Pearl Court for wonderful soups, dimsum, and the added bonus of Fu Yao ( among others) grocery. The fruit and veg are ranged up outdoors and the prices are the best in town.

“About as close to China as you can get”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

I visited China in June 2012, and only here could my memories of my visit be reignited. You'll find lots of authentic Chinese food, music and products, along with a large and friendly Chinese population. If you're in Toronto, you need to visit here!

“A great, big China town!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

If you don't have one in your town, you should really experience Toronto's China town. You often feel like you are in Asia as you walk the crowded, bustling streets. Great bargains, lots of restaurants. Very "authentic." Close to Kensington Market.
