Owner description: The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is among the world’s leading museums of natural history and world cultures. In combining a universal museum of cultures with that of natural history, the ROM offers an unusual breadth of experience to our audiences from around the world. We realize more acutely now that nature and humanity are intertwined, and the ROM offers many examples in its collections and programs of these fundamental relationships.

Checked out the South American dinosaur exhibit, and many others , Good variety of exhibits to see, lots of information on the current research, group tours every day. Fabulous place to see as a tourist or native Torontonian.

“Really nice end to a vacation”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

This place is huge, I'm going to have to return a few times just to get through the whole thing. When I went, they were having a Mayan exhibit that was quite interesting, and I also got through the dinosaur and bat sections. All in all it was a good way to spend an afternoon.

“First People/Canadian Works, Plus Cool Rocks!”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Perhaps oddly, though the whole museum was great, we found ourselves totally absorbed in the rock (mineral/gem?) gallery for the longest! An interesting mix of art, culture, and natural history, it's got a bit of everything. There were great galleries of native/First People art, culture, and history, which is something you can't get just anywhere. Many other sections will be familiar to those who have a big museum nearby, but if you don't this will be even better. It's also very near great neighborhoods to walk through and restaurants, shops, etc, so you can easily make a day of this part of town.
