“One of the great museums in Toronto.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2012

The new renovation adds to the street appeal of the museum, and inside it's still a great natural history/anthropological museum. I was surprised to find the David Hockney exhibition hosted here, but it's a must see if you're in Toronto.

“Excellent after renovations!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2012

I had not visited in over a decade, and now - am so impressed with the new renovations!! The outside has a new facade - upbeat, facing Bloor Street. The Queen's Park entrance is "no more." Inside - so much more room, and no more hordes of people being crammed into the stairwells by the front entrance!!
There are new exhibits, and the dinosaur area has been overhauled completely. It can now rival Drumheller, Alberta's displays, but, not in variety! We saw the Mayan exhibition - very educational, and there was ample room for everyone as well.
The Food Studio downstairs - has a great variety of offerings (salads, soups, fruit, wraps, and a grill area) - but the prices are a little on the high side as is usually the case in these institutions! The food is good though!
I thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

“A very interesting museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2012

I love the special exhibits, the director is open to many concepts ideas and historical facts. The permanent, Indian and Inuit collection in the basement is a must, it also has a great dinosaur and Asia collection, I think it has one of the largest and best collection of Chinese art outside of China
