“No pretences here!”
Reviewed April 15, 2014 via mobile

What you see is what you get. Nothing matches, but hey, it doesn't matter as the food, which is what we came for, was delicious and the service was good. It was a busy lunchtime and we had to wait ten minutes for a table, but we were in no rush. Waitress was courteous and advised how many people had been billed and would be leaving imminently. It was noisy, but only with conversation; the place is vibrant and unpretentious and shouts,'If you don't like what we are, don't eat here'. Fair enough.

“A local gem”
Reviewed April 9, 2014 via mobile

Heard so many great things about Lady Marmalade and our visit lived up to the expectations. Although we didn't have the brunch that many friends told us about, we had a wonderful entree. We both had a dish with black beans, seasoned rice, pulled pork with a yogurt dressing drizzled on top. The dish was seasoned exceptionally well. The restaurant has a quirky appeal and the service was friendly and efficient during the busy lunch hour.

“Great lunch spot”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

Fabulous lunch - hard to choose what to have as there are so many great choices! Nothing fancy about this place, (yes, un-matching chairs etc per previous review - but that was part of the charm I felt). Very casual, relaxed and great food - exactly what we were looking for.

“what's all the fuss?”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

really don't understand all the hype of this place. It is the noisiest place I've ever eaten in, in my life. Everyone shouting to be heard over everyone else.. sad commentary on this generation, they know nothing about manners and keeping your conversation to your table quietly. Décor is real tacky, mismatched chairs, table bases and ceiling lights all look like they came from the garbage or garage sales. Cash Only ! get with it! it's 2014. Food tries to be upscale but missed the mark badly. sorry won't be back . leave it for the trendy Leslieville crowd to pander over.

“A super warm welcome to Toronto in the ice storm”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

Our first breakfast in the. City was chosen with care .... We were delighted with the authentic feel, so delicious food plus wonderful service.

Being English "bennies" we're new to us .... The special with ham potatoes and hot sauce was amazing. The kids were spoilt for choice.

Coffee was topped up many times , service was really friendly and attentive.

An excellent find, not even the overnight icicle storm could damped our delight.
