Baton Rouge is consistently the best place for ribs. Other steak houses do not compare. Always fall off the bone - no knife or fingers needed. Others claim to be fall off the bone, but only Baton Rouge is fall off the bone. We were a party of 9 and had a room to ourselves. As this location is in a historic building, it is cut up in rooms vs open like other locations. Our server was Angel and she was an angel. Very polite and attentive. I was with my parents and aunt (all around 90 yrs old). Angel was very patient with them. Food was hot. Ribs excellent. Salads fresh and crisp. My son's pop refills were quick.

This was the "Scott House" before it was Baton Rouge, and they have retained the charm of the olde home.

The lobster stuffed mushrooms are great, and the seafood linguine was chock full of giant tiger shrimp and scallops.

The Santa Fe chicken and the grilled salmon are also great.

we were two couples out for an evening celebrating a 28 year anniversary and a birthday. We booked our dinner for 6:30 p.m. but ended up earlier at 5:00 p.m. and was pleasantly accepted at the front desk. We asked for a nice booth. The restaurant was not been at that time.

The reason we went there firstly because the Baton Rouge in Whitby has closed.

The waitress was very pleasant and nice. Took our order. We asked for some buns they don't offer it but you have to ask for it. The buns were small and tasted very stale. Unappetizing.

We ordered three racks of ribs and a steak with extra mushrooms. The steak I was told was perfectly done and hot. Mushrooms came in a skillet delicious and very very hot.

In regards to our ribs they were warm and burnt. Not just one rack but all three. The sides were confused and mix match on three different plates. One order of fries came lukewarm and dry. The mouthwatering and delicious apples were a good portion and only thing that was hot. We ate it anyway.

The waitress was pleasant and after our meal we as two couples were presented with two warm chocolate cookies with ice cream. One read Happy Anniversary and the other Hapy Birthday.

Our meal came to $65.00 without water and free dessert. I love Baton Rouge but unfortnately I wouldn't go back to this location.

The old farm house is beautiful inside but you can feel it needs some updating/ the lights were somewhat dim. The location we were sitting is not good for someone who is disabled. There are four steps to the upper portion of the restaurant and another step to your booth. We asked to go to the washroom and the only location was long flight of steps. Didn't count the steps but they were very plenty. The Lower level of the restaurant was set like the upper level but with washrooms. It would be great for a private party with guests on the upper level to share the washroom. The washrooms were very nice and very clean. When we left it was 6:30p.m. parking lot had plenty of cars but not full and the restaruant on the upper level was half full and a party was going on on the lower level.

Hi Jo,

We apologize for the less than stellar food you received. Our ribs are our pride and joy and while they can cool down quickly it seems that we really dropped the ball with the mixed up sides and having them overcooked. If you would feel comfortable doing so I would ask that you email us at scarborough.br@gmail.com. We would like to hear more about your experience and hopefully find a way to make it up to you and yours!

Hope to hear from you soon,

Baton Rouge is known for its Ribs and they did not disappoint. Very large restaurant located right next to the Scarborough Town Centre shopping mall. There are lots of restaurants around the perimeter of the Mall, but we fancied ribs. Monday-Wednesday this location offers a Prix Fixe dinner - three courses: Soup/Salad, Main and Dessert. All four of us chose this option and we all chose Ribs; two of us had the baked potato with everything brought on the side (sour cream, butter, chives, bacon, cheddar cheese) while the other two guests had the fries - shoestring style and yummy. The ribs come in different sizes and we all chose the smaller portion - it was enough! The Caesar salad was fresh and just the right amount. There are only two options for dessert and we all had the brownie with sauce and ice cream Good wine selection too. Service was efficient although we did have to remind our server that in addition to the wine, we'd appreciate a glass of water. One portion of ribs was served with a burnt end, but kudos to the staff who brought to the table another small portion of ribs - this was done without us asking - a nice touch!
