“Exellent Food, Service, Price and Panacotta to die for!”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

This restaurant seems popular during the weekdays with the office crowd. Given it's location it does not seem to be on the average tourist or local shoppers radar, so the weekend seems quiet. However, it is certainly worth looking for. This is one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Two of us had steak, one had veal scallopini in a marsala sauce...all of our meals were delicious and the meat very tender. Vegetables were done to perfection. We started with a very good Cesar salad. I must say though, that our desert...Panacotta...was incredible! The Panacotta on its own is worth many return trips.

“Not outstanding but worth visiting”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Located in downtown Toronto near the intersection of Yonge and Wellington.
We sat outdoors and there are umbrellas over the tables if you find it too sunny or hot.
The interior seemed quite dark; a good setting for a romantic outing.
I had the Penne Lido ($18.00) and my dining companion had the Rigatoni Della Casa ($14.00). Both meals were good. You can choose either a small or large serving, but we both found the small serving was adequate. The bread was excellent.
There were what appeared to be some spicy dishes on the menu, served with jalapeno or chili peppers, and while that does not appeal to me I am sure it would interest many diners.
Our main server seemed a bit distracted but several other employees were attentive to refilling water glasses, checking on the meal etc.
At a restaurant like this I expect a more professional greeting than "hi guys". This restaurant would not be described as upscale.
I was far from overwhelmed with the dining experience but I will try it again at some point.

“Better than the last time, which is good.”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

We live in the building - but we have scrupulously avoided going here to eat. I was too tired to cook, and to walk. So we ate here. The food was okay - average. The service was good and friendly. The wait for our food was over an hour - which was not okay.

Last time we were here they had hidden their City of Toronto health inspection card in the bar - there was a reason. This time everything had the green light.

We will go back - only for the convenience. There are many other great restaurants around the corner, but this was okay.

“A quality restaurant downtown”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

Vagabondo is in a good location near the King Edward Hotel and the Sony Centre. I had the fettucine Vagabondo which was covered with chicken pieces, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and tomato sauce. Very tasty! My wife had the veal piccata which came with a variety of vegetables. We enjoyed the gelato topped with blueberries and raspberries and whipped cream. We were well served by Steve. I was glad when they turned off the hip-hop music and turned on the Italy-Japan soccer game. The restaurant had a European atmosphere. We were happy to find a quality restaurant downtown.

“Dark club atmosphere”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

Apparently this restaurant hosts Speed Dating 3 nights per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), which made it quite noisy. The area where we sat (nearer to the front) was quite dark. Black walls and terracotta/burgundy ceiling. One couple in our section sat in almost dark with no lighting.
Our server, Ryan, was friendly and service was excellent. He was the highlight of the restaurant experience. Food was tasty and enough. On a non-Speed Dating night, this restaurant would likely be a better atmosphere for quiet conversation, date-time with husband.
