“A little jewel along the Ossington strip”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Bistro fare done with imagination in a very "intime" setting. The menu is not expansive but every dish is prepared with care and attention to detail. This for the true foodie. The home made donuts are a dessert must.

“Excellent cuban w french flair”
Reviewed February 27, 2014 via mobile

Delux on Ossington was a pleasant surprise. And coveniently located a couple doors down from our favorite tequila bar; Reposado (save that for next time though. This was a Tuesday night). Small and understated industrial decor w faux leather bench seating lead into a minimal menu of inexpensive but delicious apps, entrees and desserts. A quick phone call we learned will lead to a carefully thought out tasting menu which we will take advantage of on our next visit with friends. Portions are sensible so you can share many plates. In fact they encourage it. We started with delicious mildly bitter cuban beer on tap and home made tropical chips consisting of plantain, sweet potato and other tropical root vegetables finely mandolin sliced and cooked to order, immediately salted and served w a delecate homemade salsa w lime and cilantro. The cumin chicken wings were small and devinely juicy and the grilled shrimp over guacamole was spiced so expertly with just enough heat to play with your taste buds long after the last bite. The pork belly, as a main course we shared. It was indulgent with perfect crackling and prepared over a potato puree. So glad we opted for a side of delicious cuban black beans. We continued with 2 ridiculously wonderful desserts - hot banana fritters piled high on the plate for sharing and an oh so creamy cuban coffee creme brulee. A cup of strong cuban coffee finished off the meal with conviction. Servers were friendly and the kitchen was spotless as I noticed on my way to the cellar washrooms. Careful of the steep steps! Worth a visit. Especially followed with a visit to Reposado. No drinking and driving though!!!!

“Simple and Delicious!”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

This no fuss dining spot serves up a great Cuban sandwich packed with meat and cheesy goodness! Service was so-so as it was packed, however would definitely go back simply because the sandwich was that good!

“Simple but comfortable setting with a young atmosphere and great food in an interesting unadorned decor.”
Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

Ossington has become such a great street for dining. Not long ago was a derelict spot. "Deluxe" has a warm feeling, simple exposed heat ducts, banquettes and windows onto the street. Great warm welcome and knowledgeable wait staff. Flood is well thought out. I had the white fish strips done fritti! So good! Try a reasonable caucuses red and you will be delighted !! Great experience will go back soon!
