I'm not sure how long it has been there, but luckily we 'stumbled" into it while taking a stroll around Harbourfront. definitely worth visiting. Beautiful pieces and friendly staff/

“Uninformed”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

I lived in the North for 3 years and what is shown at this Museum is but a small taste of what people should be informed and educated about when they visit such an establishment. It is clear that the proprietors have extreme prejudices and are only showing items which reflect a very narrow view of Inuit Art and the artists that make it great.

Museum of Inuit... T, Manager at Museum of Inuit Art, responded to this review, November 13, 2012
We are sorry to hear that you felt your experience at the museum was less than positive. MIA is committed to showing the breadth and depth of art made by Inuit and currently has the largest permanent display of the art form in the country. We make a special effort to include a variety of media as well as art from different time periods and regions within Canada. If you'd like to offer any suggestions about what else you would like to see us showcase, please send us an email at info@miamuseum.ca.

“excellent introduction to Inuit artists and styles”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

Small gallery with polite staff, this museum introduced us to Inuit mythology and the different media and crafts by Inuit artists. Perfect for a rainy day, and interesting enough to spend a whole afternoon reading all the information accompanying the exhibit.

“Ice Art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

Gallery showing full range of amazing Inuit Art of past and modern times. Including historical data as well as modern developments. Video-installations to document life of Inuit people. Beautiful museum-shop with art-gallery and craft-shop (sometimes with presentation of artists at work). Very unusual gallery - very unusual art and history of a small and amazing culture that spread out so far. It is not cold in there!

“Unique and one of a kind artwork”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Beautiful artwork...but I have never been an art collector. Even if I had a ton of mad money I probably still would not own much artwork, but I do appreciate the craftsmanship and natural beauty of Inuit art.
