Great little museum. Beautifully designed. They have temporary shows too so even if you've been once, it's worth checking back every now and then to see what's on.

“Beautiful, Thought-Provoking and Inspiring”
Reviewed June 11, 2011

Located in a commerical center at the water's edge, the Museum of Inuit Art is a must-see in Toronto. The three dimenional work is stunning.....carvings of stone and animal bone or antlers (from animals killed for food). This work represents the life and culture of ancient peoples. Many pieces are contemporary, but created in a traditional style.

“First rate collection of inuit art, with great mp3 lecture and video info, nice gallery”
Reviewed August 10, 2009

Small museum in Queens Quay, but devoted entirely to Inuit Art. Great historical perspective, and some masterpieces in the collection. With a photo ID, you can get an MP3 player with a very informative (if a bit academic) background and contextual lecture (lasts over an hour)... It is not the typical museum guided tour, rather, its a very loose contextual framework, but if you are interested in the art and culture of the northern 1/3 of Canada's territory, you will enjoy this. Also some very well chosen contemporary works for sale. And multimedia shows at the end of the gallery space. Well worth the trip , even if you haven't the patience to listen to the tour.
