This was a return experience for us after not being at Table 17 for about 8 months. They were having some issues with their AC but other than that it was a delightful experience. The food was outstanding... we had good martini's to start with... but I don't really like the glasses they use to serve.. not a real maritini glass but the contents were excellent. For starters, the special was an heirloom tomato salad with Buffalo Ricotta... outstanding. Then on to the scallops that were amazing... fresh Ontario peas and a nice bernaise sauce. Scallops were perfectly done. There is a nice wine list and we paired a beautiful Spanish Albarino with our meal. The wait staff seemed to be a little off but it could have been the heat and humidity and no AC. Will be going back to the neighbourhood gem.

Handy location in a fashionable suburb. Very friendly staff and although busy they were attentive and took orders without too much delay. Plenty of help with advice regarding the choices on the menu so that was useful as it was our first visit.

Reasonable menu although some more simple choices for the less adventurous may prove helpful. That said there was something for everybody.

Wine list was also gave plenty of choice and there were recommendations here from the waiter.

Food well prepared and presented. Tasty and reasonable size portions too.

Not a hugely memorable dinning experience but pleasant enough. I'd go back without hesitation and the cost was not prohibitive.

It's all about the food here, and it was very impressive. I started with a generous portion of PEI clams in a simple broth, followed by a very tasty tagliatelle with chanterelles and fresh corn kernels. My dining companions had some of the " shared plates": runny polenta topped with lamb meatballs in a light tomato sauce (chiles on the side), and stuffed zucchini blossoms. Then they all went for the duck confit on a bed of Puy lentils. Everything was light, fresh, and full of flavour. Extensive wine list. The high-ceilinged former retail space is noisy once it fills up, the service is amateurish, but the food certainly merits a return visit.

Went to Table 17 restaurant in July 2013 with my spouse. The restaurant is located in the now trendy area of Leslieville. The décor looks nice and the staff seem pleasant.

My issue is that during the evening service, the kitchen took 1 hour to prepare two entrees and the waitress asked twice as to who had ordered which dish. When the food did arrive, she had to ask again?
More choices in the area and will probably not be coming back.

I went to Table 17 with a friend of mine for the first time not knowing what to expect. The restaurant is located in the Leslieville/Riverside area of Toronto, about a 10 minute taxi ride from downtown. I was very pleasantly surprised with the warm ambiance and the "neighborhood" feel of the place versus the business like setting of the majority of restaurants in downtown Toronto. The staff and service were excellent, with suggestions provided for the different courses. Our waitress was very knowledgeable regarding the menu, and explained the each of the selections in detail. I had the potato soup followed by the seared scallops, with a rhubarb panna cotta for desert; all which were excellent . This restaurant prides itself by buying local produce and meat grown and raised in Canada. Overall, great restaurant for couples, friends, and business types who want to relax for the evening. I would highly recommend Table 17 and will go back the next time I am in Toronto.
