We came here for a special event (day out in Toronto looking at wedding dresses) and this was the perfect end to the day. The food was absolutely incredible - everything we had was mouth watering. The chef was even able to come out to explain some of the dishes to us. While the restaurant is (physically) on the smaller, it lends itself perfectly to a cozy, comfortable atmosphere where you feel relaxed and at home - which has a lot to do with the staff there, who all made our experience intimate and special - though with food that was perfection. Hats off to the chef and the rest of the staff for making this such a great dinning experience!

Dined here In Sept. had no idea what to eat. The waitress recommended the beef and the duck. We had both and shared. The food was delicious, the sauces were out of this world. It’s a very quaint little place.. with enjoyed every minute.

Greta's is a very small, very cosy restaurant focussing mainly on small portions. There is a prix fixe and à la carte menu with very interesting choices. Three of us shared the charcuterie plate and the daily tartine, both of which were very tasty. Two of us had the crab risotto, which I found rather bland and without nearly enough crab. One of us had the steak, which was a very small portion but tasty. The service was delightful - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was very welcoming. Wine prices by the glass were outrageously high and the suggested gratuity starting at 18% turned me off at the end of the meal. It was an enjoyable evening, but I probably won't be back.

We've been a couple of times before in the past year or so and have never been disappointed. It's a short but almost all tastes inclusive type menu and everything is fresh and tasty. The wine list is good and an interesting cocktail menu will get you off to a great start. Throw in a warm and friendly service and it becomes an easy decision to go back, which we are looking forward to doing.

I'd recommend that you book. It's small and cozy, so unlikely to have much walk in availability especially at the weekend. Pretty much every table had a "reserved for..." note on it.

Enjoy

What a wonderful restaurant with delicious food and wonderful staff. Our party of 4 enjoyed all the appetizers we had - the escargot and the chicken liver mousse plus an order of their special bread. Three of us had the Trout Almondine and it was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The other member of our party had the duck and it too was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. They have a selection of wine by the glass and bottle. We appreciated the fantastic service we received from Emma. She was friendly and professional and her suggestions made our dining experience a terrific one. Thanks to the chef and Emma for a wonderful evening of dining at Greta’s.
