The Grille was, to be quite frank, a disappointment. I had heard such positive things from people, that I was expecting a better product. The one positive was the excellent and friendly service (except for one error with the bill) from the waitress. She was prompt and willing to give refills with no hesitation. Now to the unfortunate part, the rest. The Greek salad had many pieces of brown lettuce. The chicken wings and the ribs were decent, but the fries were rough. They were reminiscent of fries cooked in oil that has not been changed in quite some time. Both of friend's pasta's were just "okay". The pasta seemed overcooked and not the strongest of sauces were on the pastas. Everything was passable, but not worth a second look. At one point, the smell of fish overtook the table, it was so strong, it just should not happen. The prices were not exactly cheap either, I mean it seems that it should be a higher quality of food for the prices. But maybe that has to do with the fact that there is food available 24 hours a day. I feel that The Grille could easily be a four, but the attention must be paid to the details. To make the jump an ordinary, to a solid experience The Grille will have to do an overhaul of their service practices.

Back again in Toronto after a year and we decided to check out the Grille again - this time for lunch. This is a diner-style restaurant in a busy location on the Queensway near Highway 427. There are lots of food choices in the area so prices are quite competitive.

As with previous reviews, the food portions at The Grille are large so no one can complain they left the place hungry. Food is not "Master Chef" style - it is basic meat and potatoes that will leave you feeling full and satisfied. The price is very reasonable so in general we were very happy wity our meals.

Good prices and big portions. A lot of selection, even for breakfast. Friendly service. Beware though... Your clothes will stink after eating here. I smelled like bacon for the rest of the day after eating here.

Stopped in here around midnight on our way home from a concert in Toronto. My husband had a late dinner; I had an early breakfast! Very clean & good-sized portions, attentive wait staff. We came back another day when they were busier and still enjoyed our meal. After a short chat with the Manager, he graciously offered the separate diningroom for a post-funeral gathering. This was on a weekday, not prime dining hours. Sandwiches and salads were great, quick waitress and judging by the comments from our family & friends, I think they may have picked up extra patrons along the way. Will definitely be back!

I've been going here for years, the meals are good value for the money. Big portions, but the food has really gone downhill in the last while.
