Not great for you if you are gluten-free. No menu choices. The waiter informed me that "I don't know if the menu items are gluten free because the boss doesn't speak English/know what gluten is."

Also, I was given a meal once that I was told was vegetarian, and later found out I was served something with fish sauce. That was a few years ago, but it could have changed.

Overall, the food is average, and the price is low. It's good for grabbing a few drinks/snacks with friends if you don't have too much cash. However, the music can sometimes be fairly loud.

It's worth going to at least once if you live in the city, but it's nothing fantastic.

My girlfriends and I went here on a Friday night at about 10p. The place was pretty much empty inside, and while there was a patio on the street, it was already filled. Most people only stayed about an hour and then left. The inside of the bar/restaurant is pretty cute with little twinkly lights and artwork on the walls. They played mid 90s music the entire night.

We chose to come here as we had read online reviews about how CHEAP all the food and drinks were. We ordered the pitcher of sangria for $15 and were able to get about six wine glasses out of it, and it tasted decent. A pint of beer was $5.25 and bottles of anything were at least $4 which I don't consider to be that inexpensive for the middle of nowhere Chinatown. You can only pay in cash, but if you go up to the register they will give you separate bills.

The staff continuously walked around to see if anyone needed anything, almost to the point of being stalked. However, I suppose that is better than all the reviews that the staff was previously rude.

The toilets are in the basement and the doors to the female and male restrooms are propped wide open. There was a sign saying that you can't flush the toilet paper down the toilet, and there is conveniently, a large overflowing bucket next to the toilet to throw the paper into. There were no paper towels or hand dryers, just this giant blue cloth thing to wipe your hands on that were touching the floor. If you had the time, I would look for and travel somewhere else.

it's probably ok for drinks in the evening but for lunch the food was pretty poor and seemed just thrown together. also the menu is completely basic pub food, sandwiches, soups , salads, nowhere close to as interesting as the description on tripadvisor led me to believe

I'm quite smitten with the Red Room. Not only is the food delicious, but the portions and pricing are generous, and great for those on a budget. The atmosphere is laid back, hip, charming, and a bit romantic. Generally there's a good CD on and it compliments the vibe. Patio seating available. Try the pad thai, my personal favourite. I will say the one thing that is lacking is perfect service. Particularly, after you get seated/order. One option if you're looking to leave and waiting to pay is to go up to the cash and pay there. Oh, that's another thing. If you have plastic there's an ATM inside, but it'd be nice if you could pay with credit cards. Though there's a wall mounted Royal Bank around the corner and a CIBC across College. However if you're willing to overlook those things (even if you're not) it's a stellar restaurant.
