I can't believe nobody has reviewed this hostel.
The owners of this small hostel are Lloyd and Willa Jones. We were greeted by Willa when we arrived, and were shown our (private) room (for $20 a night!). The kitchen is shared. There is a very homely feeling about the main building where we stayed, but there's also another bunkhouse in the yard, and some camping space too.
The surroundings are beautiful. The hostel is set in an area of pines, where you can watch deer grazing. A short walk away is the shore of Lake Superior, and a short drive to the east takes you to Sleeping Giant National Park. A car would at first glance seem a necessity, but we didn't have one, and stayed over a week. But if you are passing through and need somewhere to stay for just a night, then i would definitely recommend this place for a good night's sleep!
This is where the "Backpackers Hostels Canada" organisation started in 1990. This particular hostel has been open since the Seventies!More
