Went to the Scan to make my own decision on which place was better between the Scan and Hoito. Scan wins. The pancakes are even, the eggs are even, and the meat is even. Where the Scan excels is price, syrup, potatoes and accessibility. The Scan is significantly cheaper than Hoito. The Hoito offers syrup packets which is a slap in the face for it being such a notorious pancake joint. The Scan provides a bottle of unlimited syrup which taste better. The Hoito provides fries are hash browns which seem to be frozen then deep fried. The Scan has unbelievable skillet fried potatoes which were fresh, never frozen and taste home made. Due to the media attention, the Hoito is always busy and usually has a wait. The Scan is faster to get into and fast service. Also, the Scan has a relaxing environment. The Hoito is in a basement. Even thought both are good food, the Scan is superior!!

I actually prefer The Scandi over the Hoito. I like that you get real fried potatoes and the Finn pancakes are pure goodness.

Still a good home made meal to be found here. IT's not as busy as it used to be, but the food is still hot and delicious
