We had some difficulty finding the road to go up the mountain but used Google. Beautiful view of Thunder Bay and the Sleeping Giant.

My family was up visiting from 12+ hours away this weekend and we planned our weekend around going to Mount McKay only to get up there and find the gate and admission office closed. There was zero communication on the Facebook page or Website that we could find to reflect this. There were several other cars waiting to enter and more arriving as we left. It's unfortunate, as we could have better planned our weekend had we known. There is also one junky trailer that have been parked on-site for most of the summer that have perhaps been abandoned? Mount McKay has the potential to be beautiful.

We went with grandsons, the view of the Thunder Bay area is excellent, although there is no gift store or any store for that matter. It was $5 for the car to go up, so reasonable. It was a clear and beautiful day as well.

This was a great hike! Took awhile but we got to the top. The hike gets quite steep and the rocks are shaky so make sure you wear good hiking shoes and bring water.

So I don't know where to start to get to the top. Drive up paid the five dollars. And found the starting spot. Took about 30 mins to get up. Not very easy but we made it. Hard coming down too very steep. Once we rested at the top we crossed over the top towards the mill. Amazing view.
