Terrible road, it really needs to be repaved, at the site itself, there needs to be great improvements done .. there is nothing attractive up there at all. the only nice thing about it, is the wonderful view of the city.

This is by far the best view in Thunder Bay. The hike itself only takes about an hour on the way up, but the view is spectacular. You can see the entire city! A must-see.

Trails are ok, the lookout desperately needs some TLC, would be nicer if this was open more often and if there was a gift shop up top or even a small restaurant area.

Take the opportunity to walk the path to the very top. The breath-taking views are worth every step. The path is intense and very natural (stepping over fallen logs and the like), but the reward is worth it. Awesome unique adventure. Bring a camera.

Most people stop at the parking lot half way up Mount McKay, but there is a somewhat challenging path to the top which for me is worth the effort. It starts to the left of the parking area. Wear good walking shoes and take some bottled water and a camera with you. Not recommended for those who are not fit.
