We were driving from Toronto and in need of a reasonably priced hotel just to test overnight. We found this online. Drove to the hotel and booked 2 rooms for $98. Michael (front desk) was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were huge compared to the other hotels we went to. We'll definitely consider coming back to this hotel.

We liked staying here, great location, comfortable beds, big rooms and it does have character. The price of the room seemed about right because even though it has a lot going for it, it could use some TLC. The wall outlets are so old and loose anything plugged in just fell out. The tub was repainted but some of the paint was coming off and you can see it was green and they only had a wall mounted body wash instead of the usual soap and shampoo. The food is pretty good but the Saturday night buffet was prime rib for $27.99 per person. Not bad if you’re rich or starving. Would we stay again? You bet.

Room Tip: Facing the water.

The place is iffy. If you can afford something else I suggest you try it. Not a place to bring a girlfriend. The wireless service was non functional most of the time and the staff did not appear to be concerned. The maid service not the greatest.

The Prince Arthur has been a landmark of the area for over 100 years. Once the most prominent hotel between Sault Ste Marie and Winnipeg, it has lost much of its glorious lustre.
The rooms are of decent size and clean. The staff, both front desk and housekeeping are very friendly and helpful. Parking behind the hotel, on the bay side) is adequate.
The restaurant in the hotel provides decent and reasonably priced meals. Traffic in the hotel at night is somelimes very noisy, mainly due to the small and rickety elevator.
However, some of the shortcomings of the hotel are more than compensated by the view if you insist on a room with a view of the bay. Particularly rooms on the higher floor have a magnificnet view of the entiore bay and the "Sleeping Giant" across the bay.

Room Tip: Select a room on a higher floor overlooking the bay.

It was well worth the price. I like that it had a British feel to it. The bed wasn't that comfy though. But even though it was down town it was very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent and very easy to access.
