Took my cousin from Ottawa for a hike to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park . We went to see the Sea Lion, it was a easy hike about 4 Km total. It was her highlight of her visit. She has been to Thunder Bay many times but was her first time to the park. I would highly recommend this hike to everyone who is able. It had breath taking views of Lake Superior.

Bucket List: Visit every Provincial Park in Ontario. Marie Louise Lake is a large interior lake that the Sleeping Giant camp sites are located on. It offers a beautiful view of the Sleeping Giant. We spent some time at the visitor centre, it was nice. We went for a drive down to Silver Islet - worth the drive. We then went back to the lake for a nice swim. We did not hike here as we were short on time but hope to at least take in Thunder Bay Lookout someday. We did not camp here but checked out the sites. Some of them have steps right down to the lake!

We loved our time at this park. We camped at Marie Louise Lake. It was so beautiful and peaceful. We had a beautiful site right on the lake. Highly recommend this campground. The Thunder Bay Lookout was a highlight of our vacation. Loved the overlook and views.

Visited in 2016. Fantastic views.About an hour's drive from Thunder Bay. Worth the drive. Scenic and great inspiration for artists.

Sleeping giant provincial park

After enjoying the world famous spectacular drive hugging the Lake Superior ,
This provincial park has so much to offer than just spectacular views. Park office staff was very friendly . Though the camping fee is pretty expensive compared to others
(C$46 per site per night ) , it seems worthwhile . There's laundry , hot water showers (free) and camp sites are decently maintained . One disadvantage is non of the camp grounds are along the beach but walking distance . There are many trails offering easy to challenging . Make you sure take a drive to the end of the road where the sleepy picturesque town silver island .
We saw so much wild life for the one night we stayed . The highlight was a mama bear with three babies crossing .

Did the drive up to the Thunder Bay lookout. It's an amazing platform that juts out from the cliff. Very cool. Did the Sea Lion trail out to the rock formation. There are lots of trails. A bunch are off one of the longer trails which make them more of a commitment to do!

We did a stretch on the Kabeyun Trail. Really nice and you can go as far as you want and then turn around.

I love this park. Some
Of the sites can be a bit crowded but I’m not that inclined to be at my site in the day anyway as there are so many great hikes to do. There’s also a great beach where you could easily spend the afternoon. For a little more privacy and a bit more of a rustic experience try the 300 sites on the opposite side or Marie Louise Lake and to rough it even more there are hike in back country sites. When you’re at the campground watch out for the nightly rounds of the resident skunks and keep a close eye on your dogs if you have them for when they do occur...because they will. Nothing ruins your camping trip faster than your dog getting skunked. Plus it’s super close to Thunder Bay so easy for a quick last minute trip if that’s where you live (like me)

Camped there often, nice place to be and you are not packed in beside each other like many other camp grounds. Watch for Deer.

Spent one day here with my 11 year old daughter while on a whirl wind trip to Canada. Excellent hiking, beautiful scenery, and surprisingly we didn't have to many bugs. Other reviews I read talked about how bad they were. Maybe if we had been there for more days it would have been worse. Definitely a must see park.
