“Tasty and Good Indian Cuisine”
Reviewed June 29, 2011

I have attended at the Indian Summer Restaurant located on Paris Street, Sudbury, on numerous occasions.

During my last visit in May 2011, I invited my banker and clients to lunch and we all ended up having lunch at the Indian Summer Restaurant. Our working lunch was rather long and thus we were able to take our time and enjoy the East Indian buffet.

The food was freshly cooked and warm. The nans were delivered to the table fresh and hot and the service was friendly and courteous. The restaurant is located in a kind of strip plaza and parking is anywhere you can find a spot to slide your car in to. The price for the buffet was very reasonable. The buffet also had a selection of vegitarian dishes as well as a light desert.

This is not an elegant restaurant or a four star establishment, but you will get a good East Indian feed for your money. Overall, I recommend this restaurant for anyone wishing to try East Indian food. The washrooms were clean and the restaurant was comfortable, clean and roomy.

“Good Indian Food”
Reviewed June 24, 2011

I've been to Indian Summer a couple of times. The food is very good and service is very friendly although it tends to slow down once in a while--most often toward the end of the meal when you want to pay. Portions are very generous, so it can be hard to eat there solo and have a balanced meal because you would end up with way too much. This means you have to choose meat OR vegetables. (I visit there when on business so bringing back leftovers is not an option.)

“Delicious Indian food”
Reviewed January 22, 2011

Unassuming mom & pop hole-in-the-wall type place (simple but cosy decor, plastic table cloths etc), but the food is absolutely delicious. Very affordably priced also. Tried the samosas and pakoras for appetizer, then butter chicken and a recommended lamb dish served with big plates of rice, along with the garlic naan bread. Huge menu, and they also do a lunch buffet. Hostess/waitress very nice and helpful with recommendations on the menu. Take-out also seemed very popular while we were there.

“This is the place for authentic Food from India!”
Reviewed October 21, 2010

Mom, Pop, and 22 year old daughter selected Mixed Vegy Biryaiu, Baigan Burtha(Eggplant + Garlic Ham), Kabab Curry on a bed of white rice, Mango Dassi + yogurt, garlic Naan (bread) and Tangoori Rori from the menu. The friendly Indian waitress gave helpful advice on what the items were and provided prompt service. In spite of the unpronouncable names, the food was quite palatable.

The decor was noteable. Maroon table cloths accented green floral print carpeting with matching maroon splashes. Red brick walls provided a visual discordant theme. Gladiolas in macro tall vases caught my eye, as did the frosted glass dividers with a sea life motif. The ceiling fan overhead provided unwanted cooling of the food.

Recommended for a one time experience, but if you're looking for a thick juicy steak this is not the place. Dining took place on June 28 2010.

“Great atmosphere, great staff, great food, great restaurant!”
Reviewed May 26, 2010

My cousin and I were in the mood for something spicy for dinner, so we decided to try the Indian place near her house. Neither of us had tried it before, so we didn't know what to expect. When we entered the restaurant, we were immediately welcomed and given take-out menus upon request. We were given a table to sit at while we looked over the menu, as well as a pitcher of ice water and a free appetizer (papadum).

The waitress was very nice and explained everything to us and, knowing we wanted sauce, recommended chicken tikka masala instead of the chicken tikka we were planning to order (no sauce). She repeatedly checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable and that our orders were just perfect (the right level of spice, etc...), and had no problem putting everything on separate bills.

The food was still piping hot when we brought it home and went to eat it at least a 1/2 hour later. It was absolutely excellent, and the spice levels were just right. The naan bread was amazing! Much better than the stuff you buy in the store (no comparison at all).

This was a great experience, and much nicer than the typical fast-food, take-out restaurant. I am definitely going back!
