Went twice. Varied and interesting menu. Good salads, fabulous desserts. Monte Cristo sandwich and sunshine salad unbeatable. Oreo cheesecake and chocolate volcano cake superb – huge servings. Good service even though they were always very busy. Would definitely go again.

We just happened to pop in here on Mother's Day morning for a quick bite because we had an elaborate Mother's Day lunch to attend. What a treat! Try the muffins and you'll be back for more in no time. It was filled with "locals" when we dropped in and I know why. Prices were fantastic as was the service.

This place is certainly NOT a Patisserie, it has some plain cakes, which really are not at all special (despite being made my them), the coffee/espresso is nothing special either.
Perhaps whats good about the place is the breakfast and the food, but if you are going for a desert experience, don't choose this place...
they have very simple cakes with icing...no croissant or anything too deserty..
their crepe was served cold and tasted like fridge, make sure if you get a cold crepe tell them to make a you a new one..
oh and for some reason it pricey too!

We never take a trip to Stratford without visiting Let Them Eat Cake, which has the best and most affordable breakfasts and lunches in town. The food is not adventuresome -- pretty standard fare -- but it is perfectly prepared and cheerfully delivered. The head waitress, Debbie, was described by the Detroit Free Press as the best waitress in Stratford, and that is completely accurate. She never forgets a name or a face, and she welcomes each customer as an old friend. She gets your orders unfailingly right, without taking a note. But more to the point, the food is excellent, there are lots of choices on the menu, and everyone walks away happy.

Let Them Eat Cake is a cute little bistro at 82 Wellington Street, not far from the Avon Theatre. Although it appears to be a favourite spot with "the locals" it seems to be a virtually an unknown with the tourists. Open from 7 AM to 8 PM, it serves an All Day Breakfast, Light Lunches and Dinner daily. And of course Cake, which here can be a meal unto itself.

Some girlfriends and I enjoying a girls weekend, stopped in here for lunch... one of our group was good, she had a regular lunch with soup, salad and sandwich, the other 3 of us were very creative, and decided what the hay, and had Cake for lunch. LOL

We each chose a different type of cake, and we were quite happy to share and compare. As it turned out (quite by accident) all 3 cakes had a different type of icing so we also got an idea of how talented this cake shop was.

One girl ordered the Hummingbird Cake which came with cream cheese icing; the second ordered a Raspberry Torte which was topped with buttercream icing; and I had the Black Forest Cake, which has basically just whip cream for icing. All the desserts were fantastic! The slices were huge (as it was we couldn't finish it all), each wedge was about 3 inches wide and 6 inches long, and close to 8 inches high... and for under $ 5.00 a slice.

The place is small, and like I said popular with the locals (everyone seemed to know everyone else) but the service was friendly and homey. The gal who served us was very busy, but she had time to make sure our teapots didn't run dry, and to assure us that it was our lucky day, because all the cakes were calorie free for one day only.

The girlfriend who ordered the regular lunch at the time said it was very very good, but the 3 of us who ordered cake, haven't stopped talking about it... we are already planning to have "lunch" there again on our next trip to Stratford.
