Our first visit to Stratford, and we were so pleased with the accommodations at Eighteen Waterloo. We were in Thyme; wish we could have taken the king-size bed home with us. Our friends were in the Rosemary suite, and were equally as pleased, especially with their huge bathroom. The house and grounds are lovely and immaculate; full of interesting artwork and decorative touches. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch, on comfy white wicker, late into the evening. Breakfast was unique and quite good. A nice touch is that dinner is available by advance arrangement; we did not take advantage of this, but our housemates did and were very complimentary.

We spent one night in the Rosemary room recently. The bed and breakfast is within walking distance to everything. We saw a play at the Festival Theatre and it was about a 15 minute walk. It's about a 5 minute walk to downtown. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very large. The room and bathroom were immaculate. The owners Chris and Christine were very charming, talkative and helpful. The breakfast was great and we really enjoyed conversation with the other guests. Next time we go to Stratford, we will stay there again.

My husband and I go to Stratford every summer to take in the Festival and, although there are many, many no doubt excellent B&Bs in Stratford, Eighteen Waterloo is the one we come back to year after year. It is perfecly located, just off the main street of town and a short and very scenic walk to all of the theatres, shops, and restaurants; it's a beautiful old house with comfy chairs on the porch where you can sit and relax. The rooms are lovely; they have all of the amenities and luxuries, and the beds are very comfortable. There are three rooms on the second floor (one - the Rosemary - has its own balcony) and one very large room on the top floor (the Thyme) which we particularly enjoy. The breakfasts are fabulous, made from fresh local ingredients - healthy and tasty, and not overwhelming in terms of portions. The conversation around the breakfast table is always lively and stimulating with everyone sharing their views about the plays they have seen. The hosts, Chris and Christie, are very special people, always willing to chat and very knowledgeable about the town and the Festival. They greet us like old friends every year. One piece of advice: if you want to stay there during the theatre season, you need to book really, really early.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this B&B last October 10/2005 for two nights to take in some theater and relax. We really enjoyed the house, its location and the innkeepers Chris and Christie Mee. They made us feel welcome and were extremely helpful with suggestions for sightseeing and directions. We stayed in the Rosemary Room. Lovely and sunny with an extremely comfortable Queen bed. We also partook of the prix-fixe dinner that Chris cooked. It was delicious! He's quite a good chef.
Breakfasts were unique and interesting, tho' I think I would have preferred well made standard stuff, like eggs and toast, to the unqiue offerings we had while there.

It was a very enjoyable and relaxing time. We didn't really want to leave and may yet return.

While in the Stratford area, make sure to visit the market in St. Jacobs in Mennonite country. That was lots of fun. Great sausages!
