Owner description: Located in the heart of downtown at 99 Downie Street, this one-time vaudeville theatre has been rejuvenated but still retains its old world charm. The theatre offers special access seating on the orchestra level. This location has limited metered parking and Special Access spaces are located on George and Downie Streets. For Motor Coaches/Buses, please do not load/unload or park in front of the theatre. Loading zones are available on the north side of George Street.

The Avon is smaller and narrower than the Festival Theater but that makes for better seating generally, no side stage seating. Actors voices are mostly projected toward the entire audience. There were many seniors attending but limited foyer seating for them while waiting for the doors to open. The only down side is that there is no dedicated parking area, as there is for the Festival theater. Mostly metered street parking through 6 PM, free afterward. There is free public parking about 3-4 blocks from the theater which is a pleasant walk in good weather. Lots of shopping within 1 block.

This is an excellent production in a gem of a theatre. Acoustics were excellent. The actors have great voices, the orchestra was wonderful and the conductor able to keep the whole thing together. I found the theatre to be extremely comfortable. Bravo!

Excellent show! Snoopy stole the show! The theatre was beautiful and we enjoyed the shop before the show. Make sure to read some of the names on the walk of fame outside!

Whether you sit in the balcony or orchestra, you can hear and see and enjoy the show. I saw Christopher Plummer perform in "A Word or Two", and he was brilliant and the simple set design was clever and elegant and effective. I saw " Jesus Christ Superstar" last year and it was also an excellent production, of a completely different style. I think everything at the Stratford Festival has extremely high quality production values.
