we enjoy this theater because it is small. We say Waiting for Godot this year and it was very professionally done and just wonderful.

Liked both plays we saw. Loved the ice cream sold outside the theatre. Cannot think of anything I disliked!

The Tom Patterson theatre is our favourite among the 4 theatres at Stratford. It always has excellent performances and, aside from the back (extreme stage left and right) corners, almost all seats provide a great view of the elongated performance area. Seats in the angular corners (stage front) are very good and perhaps better than those looking straight down the performance area.

The production was just perfect. How do they do it, SO little in the way of props, but your imagination does fill in the rest ! Seating was not so great, the "auditorium" chairs just don't do it. Ii kind of looks like it was a last minute decision and they used the chairs they could find. The lay-out was perfect though. Not a bad location in the house!

I've seen Waiting for Godot, Mary Stuart, and Measure for Measure at the TPT this week. This is my 5th year of participation in Stratford theater. This morning at a Q&A of 2 of the most well known actors in the Stratford Company, both actors said their favorite theater is the TPT. At first I was surprised, because I would have thought they would prefer a greater arena-like theater, e.g., the Festival Theater in Stratford. But, they explained that what is so endearing about the TPT is the intimacy afforded between actors and audience.

Speaking with the House Mgr. of the TPT, she described how the intimacy of the theater carries over beyond actors & audience and to the house staff and whole company. She's right! During "Measure" an elderly patron, obviously ill, left during the performance and stumbled on his way toward the exit. An actor playing one of the guards caught his arm and escorted him toward the door where an usher took over and helped the gentleman out. It was executed tenderly and as if it was part of the performance. Bravo!
