“Nice place for a quite stop in bite & drinks”
Reviewed June 27, 2014

We had a quick pre-theatre lunch. The food was ok, not blow ya away but good. Avoid the PEI mussels, they're were super small and not that well prepared - not fresh. The Cesar salad with seared salmon was fine - kind of ordinary food overall. Service was fine - not super friendly but not unfriendly - kind of bland service.

We went back later to the Inn lounge for a drink - great little bar, local crowd. Again, service was bland.
Foster's needs to work on service. Take an interest in the patron's.

“What's up Fosters?”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

We've eaten here once or twice a year for the past 4 years and enjoyed the experience. Food has always been great, well prepared, well presented. We've always felt like we got good value.

Service on the 22nd of June was still good, atmosphere still the usual pleasant one (though the basket of clean napkins out in the serving area was a bit of a visual intrusion) but the menu seems a bit less interesting and the meals were just not "on point." Not bad, just a bit meh. Not sure what it was, but we just came aways feeling like the service to value had slipped a bit.

“Awful Awful Awful”
Reviewed June 19, 2014

Took my 91 year old mother here for lunch on June 15th. Although we had a reservation we still waited 15 minutes to be seated. We chose Fosters because we were going to a matinee at the Avon. We told the server this but it seemed to make no difference. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did it was cold and tasteless. To "make up" for this the waitress didn't charge us for our coffee....I will never go back. I have never had such a bad meal and poor service at a restaurant in Stratford.

“Small town welcome - upscale taste!”
Reviewed June 16, 2014 via mobile

After a long day of travel we stopped in for dinner and sat outside. It was so refreshing to see how everyone who passed knew each other, folks stopping by just to chat, or joining in on the fun/conversation. Everyone was so welcoming, open and friendly. I love small town hospitality! Our waiter, Brendan, was super wonderful and made us feel like one of his regulars. I ordered the Zucchini Linguine that had no pasta but made of zucchini and onion ribbons with tomato, other veggies and Parmesan cheese. It was magnificent! We are staying close and will definitely revisit during the week!!

We were staying at Foster's Inn and decided to eat at the restaurant. Food was outstanding! Staff was very pleasant and prompt. Highly recommend eating and drinking here.
