We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed this small B&B with first-floor accommodations, shared spotless bathroom complete with fresh towels and quality bath products, wireless, parking and really, really good breakfast! But what made the stay was the hostess. Liz was knowledgeable, super efficient regarding any requests and/or questions and just a very nice person. We loved the short, pretty walk to the theaters & plan on many return visits ~

We spent a couple of nights here to catch some Stratford shows at the end of a weeklong tour around SW Ontario. The house, and its owner, are delightful. The sitting room for guests has a small fridge and fixings to make tea. There is a pleasant sunroom at the front and a couple of seats on a small deck outside. Or you can wander round the wonderful shady garden at the rear. The owner is an excellent gardener with a well-planted garden. The breakfast is delicious. The bathroom, shared between the two bedrooms, has a nice roomy shower. The bedrooms are well equipped with tall narrow closets, a water jug, a television perched on top of the closet, and a ceiling fan. The house has A/C for the really warm nights. The only negative is that both rooms are small. If you are just an overnighter it is probably OK, but if you are travelling for a week, as we were, luggage storage becomes a problem. Also, the room with the Queen bed really doesn't have room for the person sleeping on the right side to get in without shifting the bed askew. However, having said that, it is a lovely place to stay, particularly if you are sharing the accommodation with a friend or friends.

Room Tip: For two people take the room at the front which has a king bed which can split in to two.

It was a last-minute decision, to see a play in Stratford, ON, and to stay at a B&B priced at under $100. Most of the B&B's were solidly booked. But because The Bard and Breakfast does not book directly via the Theater site, I thought I might have a chance... and I was right.

All communication with the owner, Elizabeth, was immediate, clear and convenient. Breakfast was simple and delicious. The room, though small, had all the amenities and was spotless, as was the shared bathroom. Elizabeth herself graciously joined me and the couple from the other room, for breakfast. She was charming, and a great source of information about the plays and restaurants.

Location: very near the Shakespearean Festival, and a healthy but lovely walk to downtown and the Avon. It's on a very quiet street in a pretty neighbourhood.

This B&B is ideal for two couples who travel together, or for an easy-going traveler like me who does not mind sharing a bathroom. It is an excellent value for the price - perfect if you have lots to do and just need a nice place to sleep. During the busy season in Stratford, it's a real gem.
