Seeing 3 plays in Stratford this month was enhanced by our stay at Mornington Rose B and B.
Victoria and Murray were friendly and accomodating of every need. Homemade cookies and coffee to greet us. A Victorian house full of antiques, roses and lace plus every modern convenience in the shining bathroom - perfectly appointed. Our room had a Jacuzzi. Quiet and restful home with hosts who did not intrude. Breakfasts were truly gourmet and ensured that lunch was unnecessary! Spacious dining room. Lovely porch, shady garden with swing, walking distance to the downtown and also to all 3 Festival venues. Just over a bridge with lovely walks along both sides of Lakeside Drive. We can't think of anything negative to say and we will be going back next year..We are in our early 70's and the staircase to the 2nd floor was easy to negotiate with a great railing. We are thankful for a wonderful holiday which was actually a honeymoon. The weather was perfect so we did not turn on the air conditioner or heater in the room. Window opened easily. Lighting good in bedroom and bath.

Room Tip: One room is a suite with TV lounge, bedroom and bath. We did not know about that before we booked bu...

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Mornington Rose during your visit to Stratford. Our only regret about your visit is that we didn't know that it was your honeymoon!!! We'd have broken open a bottle of bubbly for you! If you come back for an anniversary visit later on, we'll do just that : ) Congratulations, and may you enjoy many happy years together! V & M

The Mornington Rose is in a beautifully restored old home. Across the Avon River from the town, it's perfectly located because it's away from the crowds. Park the car and walk to and from the theatres, restaurants and shopping. Victoria greets you when you arrive; Murray does the cooking (yum, yum). Spike, the cat, might show up to say "hi" - he's a beauty. The rooms are top notch and there are balconies (private and public, depending on your room) where you can relax with that special bottle of wine you bring with you. We always stay at the Mornington Rose.

Room Tip: Specify whether you want front of house (some street traffic but with a private balcony) or back.

Thank you ! We always look forward to guests returning to Mornington Rose and enjoying the location, rooms and especially breakfast! Murray does all of our home-baking, the fruit course, and waits at table, while Victoria makes the preserves and is Chef de Cuisine. We make a great team, so make sure you come back and stay with us again!

This B&B is a short walk (15 minutes) from downtown Stratford restaurants, and about the same distance to the three festival theater venues. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The Rose room has a pleasant sitting area with a satellite TV hookup we never got around to using. Too much theater to see!

Host Murray and Hostess Victoria Sanderson went out of their way to take care of us, with spectacular breakfasts and excellent followthrough on our request to find us a reservation at a very popular local restaurant.

Breakfasts, served at one time, were delightful opportunities for conversation with the other guests. We really enjoyed meeting and talking with them. Murray and Victoria were very responsive to our particular requests (no strawberries! Low carbs! Smaller portions!) while presenting elegant breakfast meals beautifully prepared.

A lovely heritage home is beautifully restored in the heart of Stratford. The hosts, Victoria & Murray, were most helpful on our arrival, guiding us through the B&B and what it had to offer. All the rooms were located on the second floor so those who have a stair issue, this might find this a bit of a challenge. The rooms are beautifully appointed with vintage furniture which add to the ambiance of the B&B. The rooms are bright and airy. Lovely gardens and a most delightful veranda where one can sit and enjoy a glass of wine after a day of either seeing a play or walking around the town. A great common area for the guests to sit & relax. Nice touches with cookies, chocolates and unlimited pop and water in a self-serve area outside the rooms. The breakfast is served in a well appointed dining room which seats 8 comfortably. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and presented in a most pleasing and appetizing manner. We would definitely stay at this B&B again. Loved every minutes of it.

Room Tip: A room with a sitting room attached is best.

Thank you! Our home, built in 1905, is a typical example of those built at the turn of the century, with high ceilings, hence long staircases, and period woodwork. Completely renovated in keeping with that time, we combine traditional decor with modern conveniences, comfortable beds, and of course, a wonderful silver service gourmet breakfast. We hope you come back to stay with us again!

The friendly and refined atmosphere at Mornington Rose make it the perfect retreat spot.

I was able to work undisturbed in the beautiful garden gazebo and out on the front porch. The rooms were spotless, well appointed, and very comfortable. The 'gourmet' breakfasts each day were the nicest meals I had while in Stratford. My hosts gave me a tour of the (unoccupied) rooms offering me a choice upon arrival. I would have been happy regardless which had been assigned.

... A truly lovely spot which I can whole heartedly recommend to a business traveler wanting to balance professional and personal goals.
