Dom and Elena are your hosts at this lovely historic home about 2/3 mile from downtown Stratford. There are 4 bedrooms, each with their own bath (though one room has the bath at the far end of the hall from the bedroom, the others are en suite). Dom and Elena bought the home a few years back and apparently it has been an established B&B for decades. This was our first time staying here and our group took over the whole house for the weekend. The best parts included very accommodating hosts (provided lactose-free milk for those who needed it, tonic water and limes for our cocktails, silverware and plates for Thai food we had delivered and ate on the wrap around porch). They also know the town well and were able to recommend stores and restaurants. As others have noted, the breakfasts, 3 courses, are amazing. Fresh fruit, an "entree"--the ricotta pancakes were to die for, as were the baked eggs with zuchini and egg and mozzarella strada--and a home made baked good, muffins and banana bread and a lemon pudding cake for our three days.

Mattresses are very comfortable, ample pillows provided. A fridge in the hall is stocked with beverages gratis and available for storing any items you may have. The TVs are tiny (but who comes to watch TV). The bathroom varied and several are in the process of being upgraded. One has been made into a lovely, ample walk in shower. Two have rather tiny plastic lined showers, but are perfectly adequate. The hosts provide blow dryers (a tad anemic), q-tips, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer and soap. Rooms sizes vary. We got the largest room which included two chaise lounges (lovely for reading on a rainy day). Other friends thought their rooms were a tad claustrophobic, though all have queen beds which is really the important thing in my opinion.

The wireless was not always easy to detect and connect to though the owners say there are two routers. Unsure what the hitch may have been. Finally Dom and Elena are theater lovers and had seen many of the shows we were going to and are happy to discuss the plays. They also were wonderful in helping some of us to get last minute tickets. We all had a great time and have already booked to return next July. Wonderful place!

Room Tip: If you get the room with the bath down the hall, be sure to pack a robe. The front room with the tw...

We stayed three nights. Bed and Breakfast hosts were friendly and made us feal like family. Delicious breakfasts. Clean and well kept house. A nice, casual walk to town. Balmoral Room was large and comfortable. Hosts provided great suggestions for dining at restaurants and sights to see.

We stayed for two nights in the Balmoral Room, loved every minute of it. As other reviewers have noted, Dom and Elena are superb hosts: friendly, down-to-earth, great sense of humour. The room is elegant and very comfortable. The breakfasts are sumptuous and elegant. Every dietary need is accommodated with grace. The location is excellent, a 15 minute walk to the Avon, a bit longer to the other theatres. Dom and Elena will recommend restaurants, plays, and they are helpful in every way possible. We hope very much to return!

We stayed in Stratford for only the one night, and we made an excellent choice. The house itself is a beautiful heritage property and is beautiful condition. Dom and Elena are wonderful hosts and even saved our trip! Somehow we neglected to notice that our theatre tickets were for a 2:00 show, not 8:00... When we casually mentioned which show we were going to, Dom said "I don't think so. It was on this afternoon!" Well as we panicked, Elena got on the phone and managed to exchange our tickets for a show that evening, which may have been an even better choice anyway.
In addition to all this, the room was immaculate, and the breakfast divine.
Highly recommended!

We stayed at this B&B the last week of June 2013 purchased through the Stratford Festival Spring Package deal. The hosts of the B&B were very welcoming and there was an immediate comfortable feeling upon entering. We arrived a little late after seeing a matinee performance but we were received with a warm welcome regardless.
We chose the Balmoral Rm which was beautiful with an ensuite washroom and quiet even though there were six other people staying there. The hosts were very attentive but not invasive, a perfect balance.
The breakfast was the best we've experienced in the many years of B&B stays. A large, varied, fruit tray and coffee or tea to start, then an amazing, homemade, puff pastry delight and in addition, a lovely scone dessert with preserves!
Also, upon arrival, we were guided to a table with homemade biscotti - so delicious, help yourself beverages in the refrigerator and candies. You will never feel hungry here.
We will be definitely staying at this B&B in the fall.
This is a great B&B, within walking distance of downtown, theatres, warm and welcoming hosts and fantastic food....Five Star plus!
Lillian

This was our first trip to Stratford, and we were thrilled with our stay at this B & B. Elena and Dom were warm, and helpful hosts, excellent cooks, and reliable advisers. We traveled with friends, and each of us enjoyed our comfortable and elegantly decorated rooms. We were 3 for 3 in terms of excellent restaurant recommendations from Elena and Dom, and the location was an easy walk to the center of town.

Room Tip: We liked Hampton Room for the in-room bathroom
