We stayed at Birmingham Manor for 3 nights and liked our room very much: spacious; queensize bed; private bathroom with shower - not large, but big enough; air conditioned; ceiling fan; lots of towels; bedside lights; very clean. The first night we found the room a little warm but that was because the weather had been cool, the central air had been turned off, and then the weather got hot again. No problem. We turned the ceiling fan on and opened the window. We found there was some street noise that night, not from Birmingham Street but from Eerie Street (2 over). It didn't bother me, but my husband noticed it. The 2nd night the central air was on, we kept the window closed and there was no problem.

One thing we did notice and told our innkeepers about (they asked)... was the noisy bathroom fan. They appologized, and said they knew about that and the fans were already on order. We found out as we were leaving that they are being installed next week (August 21). The one nice thing is that the fan and light are on separate switches so you don't have to have both running at the same time if you don't want.

The Innkeepers: Elena and Dom were marvelous. You would never guess they were new at this. They listened and really cared about our experience and went out of their way to be gracious and helpful (and for all the guests really, not just us). They asked about our pillows (Elena ensures that there are 'fat' pillows and 'skinny' pillows on every bed so that each guest can choose). When my husband told her he wanted 2 skinny pillows the first morning, she made sure that he had them the that night. They remembered my choice of tea in the morning and that I like boiling water poured over the tea bag, and in a pot... and that's how it came at breakfast. I am an early riser. Imagine being out on the wrap-around-veranda reading quietly, waiting for 7:30 to come around - because that's when the self-serve tea and coffee are made available... Dom arrives with a tea tray and milk no less, so I didn't have to get up!!! It was so very thoughtful. I really can't say enough good things about them.

The food was divine! 3 courses every morning served at 9:00AM: juice, water, coffee, tea, a fruit plate with yogurt, an egg dish, muffin/scone. We waddled back to our rooms... And if you can't finish or are too full for the muffin - Elena will let you brown bag it for later in the day! One morning, one guest had an egg allergy... so instead of the egg dish, we had a savoury puff pastry with carmelized onion, walnut and (maybe) mushroom filling... whatever it was, it was absolutely delicious!

We have stayed in first rate B&B's all over North America, and some that were not so first rate. We would put Birmingham Manor in the top rated category. Thank you Elena and Dom for such a wonderful stay. We'll be back!

Room Tip: The Sandringham room is the largest that also has a private bathroom. Some street noise from Eerie...

From the minute we walked in the door, our hosts, Elena and Dom were gracious, welcoming and completely focused on making sure our stay was memorable. The rooms are generous in size, charmingly decorated and the beds are extrememly comfortable. Our breakfasts were soooo delicious, lots of variety, wonderful baked goods and the coffee really excellent. My daughter and I had a wonderful time and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Birmingham Manor.

New owners Dom and Elena have done a wonderful job creating a great B&B experience for guests looking for exactly what a B&B should be in Stratford. As a frequent Festival visitor, I have stayed at many local B&Bs. This is now one of my favorites. Hospitality was warm and genuine. Room was a nice size with ample appointments. Breakfast was fresh, unique and very tasty. Wireless access was a nice bonus. We'll look here first when we plan our trip next season!

We chose the Birmingham Manor because of the reviews we read here, and we want to concur that Elena and Dom were gracious, excellent B & B owners and hosts of a lovely Victorian house that is classic Stratford. We had a lovely breakfast, late afternoon snacks on a wide porch, and privacy. No question, we will return and recommend this experience to friends.

Located a brisk stroll away from the theatres, this wonderful B&B provided me with the best performance of the season: perfect hosts, Mediterranean warmth in a Victorian setting, a copious, hearty breakfast by far richer and tastier than your expected fare, large bedrooms and squeaky clean bathrooms. JCS was okay, but Dom and Elena were perfect hosts, the mundane equivalent of your Sunday wafer...

This is a lovely B&B in a beautifully maintained Victorian home set in a quiet neighbourhood just a few minutes drive from downtown. Elena and Dom made us feel like welcome friends. We were treated to delicious, gourmet breakfasts which included homebaked goods and fresh, seasonal fruit. Charming , wrap around porch is available to sit outside in the nice weather. We would highly recommend this B&B for a romantic getaway and look forward to our next visit to Stratford
