This is an old hotel (previous life was as a Holiday Inn) that has had major surgery but not especially well executed. Everything works but in a mediocre sort of way. The bed is heavily used (sags), the walls are thin, the tap water reminds one of third world country quality (don't drink it). The major savior is the quality of the staff. Without them I would be hard pressed to give this place 2 stars. And book using their web site : expedia and hotels.com are a rip off.

I stayed here for 3 days in August. Was here on business so i never had time for the the pools or anything else the hotel had to offer. Fridge and microwave was a bonus. The hotel was right beside a Cosco. I read this on a review before i left so it made it alot easier to find. Close to everything including the Beer Store. Only ate at the restaurant once, but the Clubhouse was awesome. It's non smoking so make sure you get a balcony if you have the addiction like myself. Patty did a great job at cleaning the room so there were no complaints there. If i get back to the St. Catharines area i'll most likey be staying here again.

I stayed there for two nights. The place looks very old and not as clean as I would like it to be. When we first arrived, there was a long hair on the toilet and and a penny on the floor. I just left it there, and the new day , the cleaning lady did the room but the penny was still there on the carpet. Bathroom is very small, and the beds are not so comfortable. Wifi works great and pool and sauna were great also. Could'n try the spa because they emptied it the night we went to the pool. The restaurant is ok, but I ate there 2 times and both time my food was a little bit cold.

This was a very nice clean hotel. Room was cleaned everyday. The bed was very comfortable. We had a TV, Microwave & Refridgerator & free Wi-Fi. Free bottled water and granola bars were left in our room everyday. We got a free newspaper left at our door everyday except sunday. The breakfast buffet was very good. We ate there all three days. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the inside of the building have a view of the outdoor swimming pool.

Stayed here for 5 days in August. As I was free each day until about 12:30, I enjoyed the pool a lot. The outdoor pool is fantastic. It was clean, and its big enough for good laps, and even wide enough for laps across if you prefer. Inside, there's an indoor pool, a sauna and a jacuzzi. My only criticism of all this is that the indoor pool is extensively used, and maybe only in the mornings, but EVERY morning, by water aerobics classes which rule out use of that pool if the weather outdoors is inclement. Once they had their aerobics outdoors but the pool is big enough that they only used half of it.
My other big gripe about the property is the ABYSMAL wi-fi. They do have free wi-fi, but you get what you pay for. The signal was consistently weak and prone to disconnects. I don't get why hotels won't upgrade their wifi to avoid unhappy guests
Another minor gripe, and I guess I'm nit-picking, is that the key card system is not good. You need your key card to enter the second floor hallway (WHY? You don't need a key card to enter the first floor hallway?) and about 60% of the time it requires more than one try. Same with guest room entry. The key card usually required persistent attempts before it would finally work.
My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were soft and really nice. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. A daily paper was outside the door every weekday morning. Maid service was efficient. The only reasons for the 3 stars are the wifi and the key card.

Thank you for your recent trip advisor review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and all the features and amenities we offer. We are looking into an upgrade WIFI system in order to accommodate the recent growth in usage of hand-held devices. We look forward to improving this service for all our guests to enjoy. In regards to the key card access to our private Executive Wing, it is ideal for those travellers looking for added security with only guests staying in those rooms having access, and added amenities such as snacks and bottled water included in your room. We look forward to improving these issues in a quick and timely manner. Thank you for staying with us. Hope to see you soon!

This was NOT a good experience. Regarding the room, there is no ventilator in the bath room, so the towels of the morning shower or beach towels are all wet at the end of the day. That also caused the room to be very humid and some smell of humidity from the back of the bead. Other than that the room was clean.

The electronic card to open the room was not even working half of the time. People of our group got equiped with 2 keys to prevent this but even 2 keys were not working. The best was to have reinitialize your key every time you were coming back to the hotel. Keeping them away of your cell as suggested did not do it.

The restaurant was often out of items from the menu. Even when told at the beginning of the meal that there were few peach pies left there were none by the time I ordered it even if I had asked to reserve one at the beginning of the meal. The other 3 tables did not take this desert (I checked since the others were part of our group or still eating their entries). Where did these pies went if they were offered at the beginning of my meal and even after my salad !!!

On Saturday morning while I was invited to enter the restaurant at 6:30. The hotel manager and restaurant staff were arguing should it open at 6:30 or 7:00. I was then either locked out with my juice already served at my table, or locked in with my personnal things at the table in the corridor.

When asking the front desk for directions to get to the rental car office I was just told that they did not know. Not offering to look on the internet for the street adress and map.

While we had made arrangements for the room price, at departure the cost of the room was not what we had agreed on. I had a drink charged to my room and what not showing on my bill. Friends also had food from the restaurant not charged on their bill. There was also the extra Planet Energy charge that I did not even bother to ask what it was, being so desperate that there was nothing to do with that hotel.

What happens with that hotel !!! It seemed as it is run by students at their first job. Good location, clean, good food when available but don't expect more.

Room Tip: Keep close to the front desk to reinitialize your keys !!!!!

Thank you for your recent review. On behalf of management and staff, we apologize for not meeting your expectations during your recent stay with us. With electronic key cards, we recommend not placing it near cell phones or other credit cards as it will reset itself. Our restaurant hours of operation are Monday to Friday 6:30am-12:00am, Saturday & Sunday 7:00am - 12:00am. We appologize for the recent confusion and unsatisfactory experience in our restaurant. Please contact management as we would like to welcome you back in the near future and ensure your next visit will be a stay to remember.

We booked our last minute stay here after all the downtown Niagara Hotels were booked. The lobby seemed clean and inviting. The lobby staff was helpful and friendly. We had a room with two queen beds. The room was okay but a little dusty. The bathroom shower tiles were moldy, there isn't an exhaust fan. The fridge was clean and cold. There wasn't a safe available in the room. We had a patio with direct access to the pool which was nice. We had family in a room next to us and the had caught a centipede on their pillow and on the carpet. Luckily our room was bug free. Overall good price for the room and friendly staff.
