“Good prices good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

Nice restaurant with lots of Italian food. Staff very friendly.
Food tastes very good.
Salad tastes like Italian salad with oil and. Vinegar dressing. People complaining about the real Italian taste should go and buy their favourite dressing at Walmart just around the corner.
We will come back here definitely.

“What a disappointment...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

After carefully reviewing the many Italian restaurants in the Soo area, we decided to give Giovanni's a try on our recent visit. What a mistake! The rooms were filled with patrons, which seemed like a good omen, but it went downhill from there. We chose the Lasagna and the Tour of Italy entrees. If you expected to find any meat in the lasagna as described good luck. It was a mass of several gummy layers of noodles with a very bland sauce on top with a sprinkling of cheese, if you could find it! The Tour, consisted of ravioli that tasted exactly like Chef Boyardee canned ravioli, the gnocchi were heavy, not a bit light nor fluffy and the meatballs, giant prepackaged mealy substitutes for a real handmade meatball, again covered with a bland tomato sauce, and the tortellini were not cooked through. The parmesan cheese was from a can placed in a standard shaker on the table. Now for the service- pretty bad when you have to put your coats on and stand up before your server notices you! At these prices we would have fared better by just ordering a pizza (not from here) and gone back to the hotel. If you want fine Italian dining try Solo's on Queen Street! The worst part? We actually had to pay for it!!!

“Tasty Specials, Nice Atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I were passing through the Soo and tried this place at random. We both ordered the specials (pickerel, pork loin). Both were tasty and nicely presented and at a reasonable price. We would go back if in town again.

“Its OK”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2013

Was there 2 times this week (not by choice), and the food was considered "average" at best. It was overly expensive, they charge for each pop refill (it costs them pennies, so this is ridiculous as far as I am concerned), ordered the ravioli as a side for $2 extra, and I got 3 ravioli... quality of the food was average, the service sucked, so have go give it a thumbs down. This restaurant is way over priced for what you get. I am surprised how many people actually like this place.
