We arrived at the Delta Waterfront after crossing the border expecting a idealic tourist setting. There are plenty of weeds growing around the International Bridge border station and a few on the way to the hotel. The area almost looked spooky, and the hotel's stark international design and character made us wonder if this was a good choice. It was.
What bad there is to tell is that the hotel itself is older and the deluxe rooms are smaller that what I would have expected. The rest is good. Everything is very clean and the staff makes sure you are taken care of. The place quickly grows on you, and you soon feel like you are in the environment of high quality hotel. The location on the waterfront is perfect for walking along the river. We had a river view, and it was worth it. Bear in mind Sault Ste Marie is a significant industrial city, but it blends into the backdrop of a nice tourist setting around the Delta.
We were in Sault Mste Marie several days and got to see a lot of the city and other lodging choices. The Delta Waterfront was a good choice. You will pay significantly to stay here, but it is worth the investment if you are looking to get the most out of the area.More
