All new furnishings big screen tv spotless mattress and pillows bedding very comfortable. Ample free parking breakfast buffet included and staff very hospitable. One of the nicest places that we stayed as we went to the Sault for 2 days of golf. Would highly recommend this place. It was so spotless and modern as well.

Room Tip: Never had a chance to use the whirlpool or pool

While on trip around the Lake Michigan, needed a place to stay after atrip to the Soo Locks. Decided on the Fairfield based on reviews and their reputation, and the chance to see what Saute Ste. Marie was like on the Canadian side. The Inn is a nice place; it's relatively new and modern, with comfortable rooms and friendly helpful staff. On the negative side, the pool and exercise room were way too small for a large hotel and only one slow elevator for a 3 story hotel, meant a wait every time you left your room. It's on the main suburban road with a view of the steel mill, nothing special there. Finally, the breakfast room again is too small for weekend full of guests; the food selection was adequate and the excellent lady in charge of the area was working hard with a smile to keep everything stocked-- but who wants to fight for a seat or eat standing up.

Loved the hotel. The rooms were very nice. Beds were comfortable and room was quiet. The air conditioner was a little hard to regulate, because blower turned on and off. When it was on it was cool. When it was off, I got a little warm. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Only thing I didn't like was there wasn't any warm breakfast food, although they did offer sausage & egg sandwiches and quesadillas that you could warm in the microwave.

My wife and I stayed there while visiting family....nice and clean...staff were very nice and polite and breakfast was good with lots of varities of cereals, fruits, and hot items...check out was painless...if there was a downside it was road noise, but it is beside a very busy thouroughfare,so maybe request a room on the rear side of building....otherwise I wouldn't think twice about staying there in the future...EXCELLENT!!!!

People stay at chain hotels because of the lack of surprises. You won't get surprised at this Fairfield Inn, probably because it's only a year old. Everything works and the entire hotel is spotlessly clean. Rooms are compact but have all the amenities guests want such as a flat screen TV with extensive channels, mini fridge, microwave, easy chair, wall mounted thermostat to control a/c, etc. There is a Boston Pizza right next door so one can walk across the parking lot to dinner. The complimentary breakfast is adequate but not extensive. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and rate it as "very good".
