“A great place to visit”
Reviewed August 5, 2013 via mobile

Good for the young and old, adults and children. Many displays of animals, birds and reptiles. Plus numerous other items. The owner will give personnel tours and is very interesting to listen to. A good gift shop to by some a nice souvenir to remember your visit.

Never realized the museum was here till grand kids. Its really amazing. More personal attention to customers than big cities.Needs more advertising especially for schools up to an hour away.

“Always a pleasure”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

I have taken my kids to this museum several times over the last few years (also because they ASK to go back)...not many kids like going back to a museum! We live about 20 minutes away. The curator/owner is very knowledgeable. He enjoys interacting with kids and integrates many corny jokes into what could be a "dry" explanation. The kids love his puns and his energy. For a privately owned museum, this is a gem. There is a unique assortment of artifacts there. Personally, as the mom, I like the education part of it for my children, but I also love the gift shop which is jammed packed with unique jewelry and trinkets in a variety of price ranges. 1.5-2 hours would be a good amount of time for your visit.

“Hidden treasure in downtown”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

this museum is amazing. There are fabulous artifacts, the staff is very helpful. The best time to go is when Jim is there because of his personal stories involving all the collections and the building itself. A wonderful way to spend the day. A lovely little gift shop as well
