“Friendly hosts and great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2010

Sandra and Keith are great hosts - they certainly make you feel like part of the family! I called Sandra ahead of time and I was able to check into the B&B earlier than the stated time to accommodate our schedule. My boyfriend and I stayed for one night in the Secord room - the room itself was small and cozy - perfect for the two of us. There were even little chocolates on our bed - a very nice touch. Breakfast was wonderful - fruits fruits, yogurt, zucchini bread, and waffles with jam/syrup and coffee/tea. Sandra was careful to make sure the breakfast suited my lactose intolerance. The location of the B&B is perfect for those who want to explore Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls since it's located between the two. We spent all our time in Niagara on the Lake and Virgil - nothing was more than a 15 minute drive. Sandra gave us recommendations for things to do and dining spots. She has a lot of VIP cards for free winery tours/tastings which was a bonus!

You cannot go wrong staying here. This is an excellent bed and breakfast. Sandra and Keith are very friendly and make you feel right at home. We took all three rooms at the Red Coat Inn, and every one loved the rooms. The loft was beautiful and spacious, and had its own little balcony, the Brock room was also beautiful and spacious with a large balcony that accomodated all 6 of us easily.

Sandra made a great breakfast for us and we really enjoyed chatting with both Keith and Sandra over coffee and fresh cake.

Queenston is a perfect location mid-way between Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls and all that they both offer. Queenston is steeped in Canadian history and a must see for history buffs.

Our experience with the Red Coat B&B was excellent. From the personalized emails upon reservation to the checkout the last day, our hosts Sandra and Keith were friendly and accommodating!

Our room (the Brock) was sizeable and had an in suite bathroom. It also had a beautiful balcony, perfect for reading or relaxing.

The area is quiet and in close proximity to the falls, Niagara on the Lake and the border to the US.

The breakfasts were delectable, and healthy! Don’t forget to get a piece of Abby’s Famous Fudge on your way out… it is also delicious!

My daughter, son, daughter-in-law, husband and I chose the Red Coat to be our base for our daughter's wonderful wedding at Queenston Heights Restaurant just up the bluff. The village of Queenston is quiet and pretty. A beautiful drive (or bicycle ride) in either direction takes you to Niagara-on-Lake or Niagara Falls.

We took all three rooms in the place, two of which had private lounges and large covered balconies. All were roomy, furnished tastefully in period style, and had a great deal of attention paid to our personal comfort.

Keith and Sandra provided a yummy vegetarian breakfast of waffles, whipped cream, preserves, juice, and coffee as per our request. They then opened their home to two grandmothers, two bridesmaids, and a team of three beauticians who worked their magic prior to the ceremony. Sandra even served coffee, tea, and homemade banana bread to our guests. We were made to feel so welcome that we vowed to celebrate future anniversaries here as a family so that we would have more time to enjoy the inn.

We stayed here on our first visit to Canada and Niagara Falls. Sandra and Keith were wonderful hosts, the breakfasts were outstanding, and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. The location was perfect, about midway between the Falls and Niagara On The Lake. We would highly recommend The Red Coat!

This was our first visited b&b during our trip to Canada. We received a warm welcome from Keith & Sandra and the cosy "Secord room" was there waiting for us! Great breakfast in a very familiar atmosphere. We really appreciated the homemade muffins and the delicious "quiche".
