The Lift Lock is an engineering marvel and a sight to see. You can stop by and visit the museum which focuses on the lock and its construction. It is also a nice park where you can have a nice picnic and watch a boat or two take the trip up the lift.

This is really worth some time to explore, especially since it was constructed in 1904. See the lock from above and below, and try to time your visit when there is traffic

very nice place to teach children about how the locks system works ... and a nice place to take a picnic and have a rest in your lawn chairs and watch the boats .

Although I visit there kind of a lot of time, everytime I go by Peterborough, I will visit there. Lift Lock is a place to visit and see the wonder of technology structure (build at 1904) like this. Although it might be a short visit but it is good to see and learn the Trent severn seaway system in Ontario.

My husband and I went and thoroughly enjoyed the trip - especially the talk the captain gave throughout the cruise. This is not an exciting ride, gentle up and down, so kids looking for a thrill would be disappointed.
