This is one of the few downtown restaurants that has on-site parking, a nice feature as the day we visited it was raining heavily. Although we had made a reservation it didn't appear necessary on this early Saturday night, although the rain could have kept diners away. Regardless, there was a healthy crowd in the place. The service was very good with attentive and helpful staff who accommodated our request to change tables, explain the menu and offer menu suggestions. The menu was limited, with the meal fare generally being burgers, pizza and pastas; we were not told of any daily specials. We shared an appetizer, a salad and a pizza and although the food was tasty it could have benefited from some spices to enhance the flavour. Beer and wine selection seemed in line with other comparable restaurants in town with regards to quality and price but don't expect an extensive wine list. We will go back again and would place this restaurant on our top 10 list for Peterborough. The overall price seemed a bit more than other Peterborough restaurants of this type but I'm sure the market forces will shift that. I was surprised at the number of large TVs over the bar area so I wasn't sure whether this was a sports bar or an upscale pub type diner. I did not see any signs of an accessible washroom. The patio area, although not in use due to rain, was very attractive and spacious.

I had lunch here with a friend. The food wasn't bad, but a tad pricey. The restaurant is nicely done inside and the staff were friendly. I would go back, but it isn't a must visit.

Went for lunch with friends. The first impression was that this place was very noisy, you are unable to carry on a simple conversation without shouting to be heard. The menu was also very expensive compared to other places we've gone for lunch.
We ordered a few appetizers to share. The salad was bland, and needed more dressing. The chicken wings were just so-so. The waitress forgot one of our appetizers, and after we reminded her, she forgot again! She finally brought out the order of sweet potato chips and they were terrible! Burnt, cold, and tasted disgusting.
We would not return here.

We visited this restaurant in August, and we suspect it has just opened. It is quite nicely done inside. They had great difficulty in finding menus even though there was only one other table occupied. The menu was very limited: only few items were on it. We ordered a hamburger and a grilled chicken breast on a bun. The food was fair, although nothing memorable. In order for this restaurant beyond a drinking establishment they need to extend their menu significantly. I cannot imagine going back just to have a burger!

My spouse and I recently stopped in to this new addition to the Peterborough Restaurant scene for an evening out and we can definitely say we will be back again....and again!

Our first impressions were the attention to details, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, very clean and the staff was more than accommodating. We even had a visit from one of the owners who was happy to chat with us and talk about the menu. The music was appropriate and the place was full of happy customers.

We shared an appetizer of the calamari, it was cooked to perfection (a rarity these days) and came with an excellent house made garlic aoli. Neither of us are drinkers but they had a very fun cocktail menu. We each had one of the homemade root beers (never seen this before) and they were really yummy! For our entrees I had the special which was a panko crusted meatloaf with gravy, vegetables and smashed potatoes. What a treat! The meatloaf had an exotic flavor (coriander??) and was juicy and delicious and the sides were all excellent! My spouse had the Piedmont pizza, it had a blue cheese sauce, figs, pine nuts and bacon...it was sweet, rich (but not too rich) and quite inventive. Then there was dessert....there was several dessert specials that night which we found great since we assumed this meant they were fresh and they were defiantly made in house. We shared two desserts a chocolate and irish cream bread pudding that was magical...warm and the perfect consistency and a "deconstructed" cheesecake...this was our favorite dessert. Little balls of cheesecake rolled in graham cracker crumbs and it came with several warm sauces like caramel and strawberry and crushed nuts of some kind. It was playful and creative and the cheesecake had a nice hint of lemon.

Although the menu here wasnt huge, there was plenty of options between the specials and the house menu. From our experience it would appear as though these guys have done it right....quality over quantity!

We will be back to Kettle Drums for sure, in fact this will most likely be our new regular spot to entertain friends and family.

Don't miss out on this new and exciting restaurant!!!
