I came to Peterborough alone this time, so looked for a budget hotel on Expedia. Super 8 had most of what we'd had in a more expensive hotel, except views of the water. The beds were comfortable, free wifi, shower worked, cable, free parking. The pool is tiny but there is a pool, fitness room has only three machines, but they worked OK. Free continental breakfast, no variety day to day, but cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, lots of coffee. Major drawback in return for lower price is being in them iddle of long commercial strip. External noise was not a problem, but it's 5 km from anything you want to see or visit, and there's nowhere nearby for a quiet walk. Lots of internal noise, but staff acts quickly to quiet down the weekend parties.
I love the location which is close to the park. And I do love the room I stayed, very cozy, very clean and quiet enough. The bed was my mother's favourite. She said she had never slept so well that night. My personal favourite is the check in time. It allowed me to check in late that night at around 10 pm, which met my situation. Thank you for all the efforts. But above all, we both cannot ignore the price/quality factor. It is so good and the price is affordable. but I was hoping there could be more competitive price in future.
