“We did an excellent winery tour of the estate on the island itself.”
Reviewed September 3, 2011

The leader was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave an interesting tour and was able to answer all of our questions. At the end, the sampling ritual helped us to learn much more about wine generally.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed August 26, 2011

My boyfriend and I took a little vacation to Pelee Island. We stayed at the East Park Campground and while riding our bikes, we discovered the winery. We took a wine tour, which only cost $5.00/person - great value! The tour guide was friendly - a nice lady from the East Coast that was working on the island for the summer. She was extremely knowledgable about the history of the winery, the different types of grapes used for different types of wines, the various growing techniques, etc. She answered all of the questions our group had (and handled some extremely obnoxious people on the tour well). She was informative about the machinery used for making wine and while tasting, she was informative. I have never been a big wine drinker, I have never acquired the taste, but I enjoyed trying the 5 different types of wine - our tour guide explained each wine, describes its taste, what types of food it goes well with, etc. Very informative. After the 5 wines the guide selected to taste, you could pay $4.00 for two more tastings if you wanted to taste something else.

At the end of the tour my boyfriend and I wandered around the winery and took lots of beautiful pictures - the winery itself is gorgeous - beautiful landscaping and lots of old/antique wine-making tools and machinery.

Highly recommended!!!

“Enjoyable Visit”
Reviewed August 4, 2011

We went to Pelee island this week for a special midweek getaway. Unfortunately the ferry from Kingsville (the Pelee Islander) was both 45 minutes late and very rocky. People were actually sea sick. Because the Ferry was late that meant that our time on the island had to be cut short. Luckily for us we did find the Winery and had a lovely lunch outside with a bottle of wine. The winery has a great cheese and cracker lunch which is quite cost effective. Also if you buy something to barbecue from them you do that little piece yourself. It is a great idea to bring your own picnic and sit at their tables with the bottle that you buy from the winery. It is a very pretty setting and the winery itself has three free tastes to help you pick your favourite bottle.

“A great way to pass an afternoon learning about and tasting wine”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

We just got back from Pelee Island and visited the Pelee Island Winery. It was a great day to spend the afternoon learning about grapes and wine and sampling some of the wines. The island is lovely, beaches, scenery and lake. I would definitely recommend it.

“wonderful place for lunch within walking distance from dock”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

If you don't have any transportation you can take a shuttle or walk to this winery. Tours are on specific times but you can have lunch anytime. There is a complimentary tasting bar to help with your choice of wine which you can then buy by the glass or bottle and take to your indoor or outdoor table. In the deli you can purchase meats that you BBQ yourself or order a heated baguette or pita bread with cheese or a dip. All very inexpensive and tasty. Aside from the winery, a restaurant, and small piece of beachfront you need transportation to see anything else-cheaper to take your own car than renting bikes or taking tours.
