This is the second time I've taken a group of International English students to travel the Grand with Garth and his team. What a spectacular time we had!

The guides with GRR make sure that the needs of their clients come first. We paddled, we played, and we were educated. The knowledgeable staff know exactly what each group needs, from information on the flora and fauna of the area, to play time body surfing down the waters!

Thanks to the thoughtfulness and professionalism of this great company, I'll be back again and again with more students.

We would very highly recommend this activity. Our kids are young adults and teens and finding a famiily activity can be a bit more of a challenge...But this was just ideal. Garth is the consummate host- meticulous in taking proper care of his guests and very patient and accomodatiing. Dale, our very pleasant guide, shared substantial knowledge about the flora surrounding us. He was also very good in (and out!) of the raft, especially when my daughter was body surfing in the wrong direction!
The scenery was stunning and so utterly peaceful.
We hope to come back soon.

Just one tip: make sure you have the correct directions to get there!

Grand River Rafting Company is still a best kept secret for a soft adventure, fun-filled day in the sun near Toronto. (about 1:15 away) This is my third time to float with them down the Grand. Kayaking is my favourite, but we did a family group trip with some members who are a little uncomfortable on the water. So we did a raft/kayak combo float. Everyone had a blast. Garth is the owner and is a very laid back, kind, interesting, "have it your way" kind of guy. We made several stops of interest along the way to learn a bit about nature. We drank from a cold fresh spring and visited an old mine shaft. This river is very scenic, clean, and shallow, so even if you flip, you can likely stand up. Great place to learn to kayak too. We even got to body surf in a shallow, but swift moving section of the water. Laughs and giggles all the way down. All safe and smile making as you delight in this nearby adventure.

CAUTION: Be sure to book with GARTH at www.grandriverrafting.ca/

There is another company of similar name, but in my opinion, GARTH is so detailed, punctual and accommodating, that I would not go with anyone but his company. You know he does it right if we've come back with friends and family again and again. A great place to make memories.

(PS: They have great pirate trips for young kids b-day parties, as well as moonlight floats, etc. A lot of excursions to pick from. We love to take out
of town company there for a safe but adventurous outing.) After the float, you can pop into historic Paris for a meal or ice cream. Excellent day trip. VERY affordable. A must do.

With Garth at the helm and a full moon, we couldn't have pick a better choice to enjoy our summer evening by rafting down mild rapids and meandering through the river in twilight and cozy darkness. The constellation gazing, fresh spring water tasting (ahhhhhh), night sounds and the professional, knowledgeable and personable guide made this a thoroughly positive escape!

What a perfect day! Our group consisted of 3 kids (ages 7, 7, and 9), and 3 adults. Barry was our guide - full of knowledge and a terrific rafting companion. The kids loved body surfing, and are asking if we can do it again!
