With Garth at the helm and a full moon, we couldn't have pick a better choice to enjoy our summer evening by rafting down mild rapids and meandering through the river in twilight and cozy darkness. The constellation gazing, fresh spring water tasting (ahhhhhh), night sounds and the professional, knowledgeable and personable guide made this a thoroughly positive escape!

What a perfect day! Our group consisted of 3 kids (ages 7, 7, and 9), and 3 adults. Barry was our guide - full of knowledge and a terrific rafting companion. The kids loved body surfing, and are asking if we can do it again!

It was our very first time to go kayaking, and so upon booking I had a lot of questions and Garth was so patient and was very accommodating. We did the 1 hour lesson for two people with 3 hours self guided tour on the river (kayak). Barry, our instructor is great at what he does. The lesson was delivered in such a way that its informative and enjoyable at the same time. You can tell that he loves what he does. I already told so many people about them and we are currently planning another trip back. Everything was excellent!!!

Rented a canoe for the day for our anniversary. It was a beautiful trip and Garth was so helpful in the entire process of the rental. The price was excellent and we were given everything needed to have a great trip! The shuttle ride back to the car was informative and fun. In my experience with other companies, this one takes the cake! On time, enthusiastic, helpful and passionate about the area. Looking forward to booking again with Grand River Rafting.

We’re so glad that we chose Grand River Rafting for our annual anniversary adventure. Knowing that we hadn’t kayaked before, Garth not only taught us kayaking basics but also how to read the river’s waters. He allayed our apprehensions of kayaking by providing us with ample time to practise before the tour started.

Dale, our tour guide, did an excellent job of leading the tour. He was very knowledgeable on everything about the Grand River and its surrounding area. We took occasional breaks from kayaking to refresh ourselves from cold refreshing water fed from natural fresh-water springs that dotted the banks of the Grand River, to peer into a tunnel of a abandoned gypsum mine and to hike up and along the river’s banks, where Dale showed us the area’s edible wild plants and birds that have returned to the now clean and revitalized ecosystem. Dale always had something interesting to talk about, which made our tour a pleasurable experience.

We had lots of fun kayaking and hiking and will fondly regard this as one of our most memorable anniversary adventures. If you’re looking to spend a day enjoying the sun and fun offered by the splendor and natural beauty of the Grand River, then we highly recommend that you start with Grand River Rafting.
