Great fish and chips. Obviously fresh cod and fresh batter. Patio was full and fairly crammed for space.

We stumbled upon Lapointe's in Byward market. The place wasn't open for lunch yet but the person outside said it would be open in about 10 minutes. We tried to look for other options in the meanwhile but ended up waiting for Lapointe's anyway.
And so glad we did!! It was a really nice restaurant, even though it was located in the basement. The service was really prompt and efficient. The food was simply delish... we ordered the daily soup/sandwich combo, the haddock fish and chips and the stir fry. All of those were well seasoned, and really yummy! We will definitely return whenever we visit Ottawa next.

This was my first visit to Ottawa and La Point was the icing on the cake on my trip to Ottawa. We were waited on promptly with our waitress giving us a radiant smile as she greeted us. My father and I were greatly appreciative of the wide selection of fresh seafood. I, normally being a picky eater, had a wonderful time at this restaurant. A truly remarkable dining experience to spend with family.

Nice, fresh seafood. Expensive, but then Ontario is not noted for its coastline & proximity to the sea. Do have to wonder at the price of a $9.50 (LCBO ) bottle of wine marked up to $32.00).Slow service,we were seated for 20mins. before our order was taken & then had to ask another server to pay our bill ( we were on our way to see Mosaika...9.30pm & we were seated at 7.15pm) , so don,t go if your'e in a hurry.
Good seafood, well presented & I almost feel bad about being critcal...but it could have been so much better.More staff perhaps, but the the $9.50 wine would cost $45.00?
