I went for the $14 weekend lunch buffet. The selection of food was fairly impressive, with an array of vegetable dishes, salads, curries and tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken was very good and spicy in a good way. The curries featured on the bone lamb, beef ( unusual for Indian ) and butter chicken, none of which were anything special. The naan bread was good and unfortunately I was already full before it was replenished. Maybe they should consider bringing fresh naan to the table upon seating like many other Indian buffet restaurants ?
Beverage includes a good choice of beer with Indian varieties, wine by the bottle is priced between $27-$38
Service was efficient and polite.
I can't comment on whether this is the best Indian restaurant in Ottawa as I have no point of reference, in global terms, nothing more than average.

Despite its unassuming exterior, this place has a soft, romantic and absolutely elegant interior. Decor is nicely laid out and clean. Been here many times and the food is consistently good with portions that are surprisingly large. I tried their Chicken Madras, Bhuna Lamb, Fish Tikka, Palak Paneer, and of course the Garlic Nan.They also have a great lunch buffet. Their mango custard dessert rocks when bits of their rice tapioca pudding is added, giving it that extra bit of texture.

This is definitely a restaurant worth trying when in Ottawa!

The food is very good, and never looks tired, messy or dried out (though I tend to go before the lunch rush.) A good variety of dishes. Service is OK, which may reflect the fact that I've never had a problem that drew attention to the service so that's a good thing.

The atmosphere is nice, not "campy ethnic", but seems genuine Indian rather than tourist/restaurant Indian. A glass walled room at one end where a cook does Naan bread, tandoori, etc. in full view of the diners.

The price is pretty decent for what you get.

This is my go-to lunch, fortunately it's close to the office.

I don't get the comment by another reviewer that "all selections were masked by the same thick sauce." I've never seen the same sauce on multiple dishes in my 5-6 visits to this restaurant. The dishes are distinct and don't have the same sauce on multiple dishes, at least not when I've been there.

This Indian Buffet is not the biggest in town, but what they do, they do well, real tandoori, great tasting butter chicken, even decent tasting Indian desserts.

Food was too heavy and all selections were masked by the same thick sauce. This seems to be the problem with most Indian restaurants. One feels that there is a generic "curry" sauce into which the selected ingredients are dumped, as opposed to freshly cooked to complement the nature of the ingredients. I had read very good reviews on this restaurant so was disappointed with the fare. I will not go there again since there are better Indian restaurants in Ottawa.
