Visited the Village Cafe with two friends on a Friday night and we were all pleasantly surprised by the food and service. The stuffed chicken breast with scalloped potatoes was amazing and the seafood pasta had loads of mussels and shrimp. Our only suggestion would have been to add a bit more garlic. :)

Overall, we were very pleased with the food and will definitely return and recommend!

BTW, I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5..

We have frequented the Village for well over 10 years and it never disappoints. The salads and sandwiches are healthy and tasty and creative. There are always three daily specials - soup, pasta and a main so the menu changes in that regard. The Winston sandwich is my favourite - along with the pasta in rose sauce with chicken and pecans. Great value

Visited Village cafe last week ...been going there for lunch for years. The place is usually packed. Sandwiches are always great, bread very fresh and ingredients tasty. Love their warm chicken breast with flavoured mayo. Portions are large; salad on the plate with sandwich more then sufficient. If I want to leave room for desert, I usually have to take half of my sandwich home.

We were a group of 5 ladies celebrating 3 of our birthdays and it was our first time going to this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed it- the waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. We shared the mussels and the Meditteranean platter among the 5 of us and it was a great portion and way to kick off the meal. 4/5 of us went for the duck and weren't disappointed, great portions- crisp veggies. One of the ladies ordered the gargantuan scallops and the salad that mentioned roasted squash, goat cheese and nuts- she loved her meal too. All in all a lovely evening, we were too full to go for dessert but the lemon tart looked divine...the choco mint creme brulee left us a little perplexed in name alone. We'll be back!
