They know how to cook a steak to perfection. Price is reasonable and service is good. A good place to share with friends and family

“One of the best”

I've been going to this restaurant for well over 30 years. It has NEVER disappointed. The food is fantastic, and the service is attentive yet unobtrusive.

We did not enjoy our supper out re: my birthday. Even with reservations, we were placed in a service area...not pleasant.

“Not up to the billing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012

Second time at Al's in about a year and it was a special night. Nice that we got a fantastic table, (better than Bob Rae who was eating nearby!). But the overall meal was quite disappointing. It was just steak house average. Nothing over the top and everything seemed a bit factory churned. I also remember some amazing bread or garlic rolls from a few years ago - but they were no where to be seen.

“Consistently good. Reliable. No surprises.”

Al's has been around since the late 1960s. Not much has changed in that time. That's the good news. Really. They do what they do very well - primarily steaks. They can manage rare for me, butterflied (that's sliced in half and grilled to death or to perfection, depending on your point of view) for one friend and the in between range of doneness for others. And, they can produce this variety at the same table at the same time. Also, for those who don't want a huge steak, they have a 5 oz. filet. Al's is not cheap, but if you're looking for quality and want to know that you can count on the food being consistently good seven days a week, this is your place. Accompaniments: house salad with Al's delicious salad dressing (warning: garlic), potatoes/rice and indifferent vegetables. One tiny cloud - the rolls are served cold.
